|This forum is for contests that offer a real life prize. Since many contests held in the FAC forums offer only a virtual pat-on-the-back, request, or banner as a prize, this forum is to draw attention to those who actually go to the effort of offering a true prize to the winners.
A real prize is defined as such:
- Some compensation of recognized real-world value. It does not necessarily have to be a physical item, but in most cases it is, and must be physically mailed to the winner(s).
Contests that are not allowed here are:
- Contests that offer no prize beyond the recognition of winning or contests that offer a virtual prize such as a banner image. Those belong in the main contest forum.
- Requests as prizes: A request does not count as a real prize unless the winner(s) will receive the original copy or a quality print of the image. Prints of a piece from the contest holder's gallery also count as real prizes.
Please do not post such contests here with the idea that this forum is less crowded and will give your contest more attention. The purpose is to give those individuals who go out of their way to offer a real prize more exposure and make it easier for those who would like to enter such a contest but may not read every forum post.
NOTE: Since a real-item prize obviously requires the winner(s) to provide their mailing address to the holder of the contest, if you are uncomfortable with doing so but still want to enter the contest, please say so when you post your entry so the holder can decide how to handle the situation. NEVER under any circumstances post your mailing address in the forums. Any such posts will be deleted as quickly as possible. Please handle the issue of postal delivery privately. ALSO, if you are underage or living with your parents, PLEASE make sure they don't mind you giving out your address.
And finally note, FAC is not responsible for overseeing delivery of the prize from contest host to contest winner. You must handle this yourself.
