CS Lewis was a great, great man
I read the Narnia books compulsively when I was little, then forgot about them for years. Coming back to them was a real revelation and has taught me a hell of a lot about writing from remembering my reactions to different scenes. The film finally seems to be on it's way, and I'm just crossing my fingers that it'll be good.
Of his adult books I've only read 'The Screwtape Letters', enjoyed it but not enough to seek out any more of his stuff. He writes very well about faith, and some of his ideas have really helped me understand Christianity from a different perspective, although I'm not Christian.
