^_^ Exactly what the topic description says! So, does anyone here like J-pop and/or J-rock music? And why?
In my opinion, I think J-pop and J-rock music is quite awesome. I love listening to songs like 'Haiiro no Hitomi' by Shiina Ringo and--er *forgot who she sang the song w/ as a duet* :wub: . I think that song is just so cool with it's dre--Shiina Ringo's voice is so unique even though it sounds kinda crackly :huh:
Obviously, I like Japanese singers like Shiina Ringo ^_^ and Chihiro Onitsuka--her voice is lovely by the way, it gives that special touch and feeling to all her songs. Male Japanese singers are wonderful too--like TMRevolution and Miyamoto Shunichi--ooh especially Miyamoto Shunichi :wub: his voice is so so SO beautiful (I never knew how high pitched he can sing!)
Okay...I think I'm rambling on now sorry >< *hopes that I typed out this post correctly as in "I followed the etiquette" correctly* |

I like jpop/rock, too. Generally, though, I listen to more Jrock than pop.
Miyamoto Shunichi is awesome.
My most favourite jpop/rock singer to date is Masami Okui. (She also does various anime songs, like Shuffle, Megami no Naritai ~for a yours~, Shounen, Deportation ~but, never too late~.)
I also like a bunch of others, like WAG and gakuto, but I'm much too lazy to list 'em all.

i'm waaay more into J-rock than J-pop (w-inds is the only j-pop band i can sort of stand), but for some reason, i normally hate the songs with female vocals....
most of the stuff i listen too is really just whatever i found interesting, whether it be by title, band name, or a rave review. Some of the bands are mroe common (Dir En Grey, Pierrot, Glay, T.M. Revolution, Gackt, L'Arc~En~Ciel, The Pillows, Kagrra, hide, XJapan, Malice Mizer, etc.) but quite a few are much less known (i.e. Iceman, Moi Dix Mois, Pennicillin, Merry, Psycho Le Cemu, Plastic Tree, Vidoll, Gazette, etc.) |

That's awesome! I like most of the artists you've listed--especially The Pillows, L 'Arc~En~Ciel (they rock!!!), and T.M.Revolution
By the way, do you like the Asian Kung-Fu Generation (AKFG) ? Personally, I think they're the best thing since umm...*shrug* they're just so kick arse (yes, arse o_o; sorry...Harry Potter overload) |

I'm the same way. Makkun is the only female artist I like. Everything else I really listen to have male vocalists.
I like a lot of the bands you like. oO
Yeah. I listen to whatever interests me. Which ends up being mostly male groups. I haven't been able to download much music, because I have limited space on this computer. (4.5 gigs total... right now I only have 200mbs free) So, I can't really explore bands as much as I used to be able to. ^^;
Iceman... Ah, yes. I remember once I was so interested in that group, I actually sat down and downloaded as many video clips as I could. ^^;
Hmm. Moonlight Angel? I used to have that. I used to have 300 mbs worth of her music, but then I had to make space, so out went 89% of them. I liked 'em all, too. ^^; _________________

Origa? I didn't know she did Japanese, too. I just remember that song being Russian/Latin/English. ^^;
Hmm... That's probably why I stopped trying to download them. Iceman. The only song that you haven't mentioned yet that I have by them is Tearless. ^^;
....I used to have more video clips, but I had to delete some of them for other stuff (unfortunately, I think Wish Matrix is among them). One that I have that you haven't mentioned is... Lost Complex. That music video is awesome.
I'll see if I can get some of the ones you're missing. :3 _________________

Just a little OoT (off of topic) question here...Lost Complex and Shining Collection...are those songs from that one anime called Gravitation? :huh: They are right?
'Cause I seriously love those songs! :wub: OMG! haha, my row of TMR songs just started up on my iTunes playlist! THANK YOU, KAMI-SAMA! I thought I was gonna be drained after listening to female songs straight 'cause though I like listening to female singers...it gets rather irritating after a while |

Yes. Shining Collection is from the OVA for Gravitation. Sakuma Ryuuichi sings it. ^^
Lost Complex, I'm not too sure... I was under the impression that either a) someone recognised the artist (Iceman) as the same artist for Shining Collection, and therefore labelled it as a Gravitation song, b) it was on a random soundstory/cd drama, or c) it was released on the same single as Shining Collection, so everyone just says that it's a Gravi song. ^^; I don't know; you'll have to ask a Gravi expert. _________________

Actually, I don't think that's really off topic - after all, you're talking about Gravi music. It's still anime music, but at the same time, it's jpop/jrock. ^^; _________________

o.o;;;
LOST COMPLEX IS NOT A GRAVITATION SONG.
Lost Complex is just another of Iceman's songs, but since most people's thought process goes as 'Iceman=Shining Collection=Gravitation', i can see how another of their songs could be mistaken for a Gravi song.
but trust me; i own all three Sound Story, and the Vocal Collection, Best Collection, and TV Soundtrack, so there really isn't a Gravi song i don't have...and Lost Complex is definitely not one of them. |
