Right, as anyone heard of these guys?

According to UrbanDictionary (THE MOST REPUTABLE SOURCE EVARR):

"cake
only band that can be so cool despite the fact that the singer sounds so bored"

Pretty accurate description. The guy ramble-rhymes in a monotone voice, but they're an awesome band. Someone recently mad a flash video to their song "Comfort Eagle," and it has been posted on AlbinoBlackSheep.
Cofort Eagle Animation

I highly suggest you check them out.

And tell me that I'm not the only one who's ever heard of them. I NEED COMPANIONSHIP.

It has that effect on you.
I might as well name some of their other titles

Their biggest was probably "Short Skirt/Long Jacket"

"With fingernails that shine like justice,
and a voice that is dark like tinted glass,
She is fast, and thorough, and sharp as a tack.
She's touring the facility
and picking up slack.
I want a girl with a short skirt and a long, long jacket"

Also, "Sheep Go To Heaven"

"(ah no) Sheep go to heaven
Goats go to hell
Sheep go to heaven
Goats...go to hell
(ah no...ah yea...ah right)"

Uh...
Well, the voice annoys me. The bass has potential. Guitar is.....not my style. Not any style I like. Slight heavy punk tinged with sitar.
And the not having a solo gets points deducted.
Lyrics have an unusual truth to it. A bit random, but it's like it's supposed to be a bit humerous, so...
So...
Vocals: Not liking them. Just too bored. For the style, he should at least screw around a bit.
Guitar: Simple, very basic. Keeps rhythm. No solo makes me no likie.
Bass: Commanding. The bass has extreme potential.
Drums: Cool, commanding. Liking them, wish I had 'em.
Sitar: Annoying as anything and really unecessary.
Keyboards: I never liked keyboards, so assume I still do.
The video itself is.....I can't describe it in any other way than random. I never liked a music video I couldn't make a story of, except in a few scenes.
I listened to it 3 times for this thread, and I'm convinced I don't like it. Aw crap, man. It's just not me, I guess.
Although the bass seems to be influenced by Red Hot Chili Peppers. Other than that, I just don't like it.

You could tell ALL of this by just listening to the song 3 times? I listened to it once and could take any more  !

Aw, what the hell. I'm still buzzed and digging on Billy Idol, so perhaps not the most neutral state of mind, but I'll give it a listen now.

Oh, I've heard this before. Yeah, really not my thing. Seems like self-important coffee house poetry-esque. No point to the spoken word bit. Would be just as effective to sing it. I'm gonna assume he does that on every song and it isn't a one time thing. Really irritating. Could work if it wasn't so...bored.

Surprised One of my very favorite people. Ever. And he's still completely respectable. Still looks fantastic, still has that voice, and the sneer, and the attitude, and is all around one cool motherfucker. No one compares to Billy.

Cake...still annoying, but entirely delicious.

Cake, yummy. Cake is perfect for a......WHITE WEDDING (wink wink Fallen Razz )

I had to stop watching that thing before it was over. I'm not one for monotone pseudo-punk. It was, interesting, to say the least.

I've heard their stuff, and quite like it. I don't own anything they've produced, and probably wont, but they're fun to listen to every once in a while.
