Greetings! First things first, check out the subforums so that you can get an idea of what they're for -- many newbies get confused about what sort of topics belong where, which leads to them posting topics in the wrong places.

Many of our subforums have a "Rules" type of thread pinned at the top of the topics page, so when you see a pinned thread, DO take a glance through it since some subforums have special rules.

Go visit "The Newbie Thread" in General Discussion to introduce yourself, and make sure you've read the hard-and-fast rules thread in the Announcements subforum. (You may want to set the topics listing to "from the beginning" in that subforum to see all the announcements made).

There are a few other points of etiquette you should know, such as:

- Don't treat the forums like a chatroom. After you've made a post, don't just sit and wait for people to respond to it, because chances are 99% that it won't happen anytime soon. Go and do something else, then check back after at LEAST 24 hours.

- Keep your signature at a reasonable size. That image in your current signature? WAY too big. Look at other member's signatures to get an idea of how large it can be. It's not a set limit, but if yours is too large you might one day find the signature removed and a note from the moderators left in its place.

- See the "Attach File" option? Don't use it unless you're going to attach a file with absolute relevance to the topic.

- If you made a post and then realized you forgot to add something, DO NOT make another post with what you forgot to add. Instead, at the top-right corner of your post you'll find an "Edit" button that you can use to add in whatever it was you forgot. Even if it's 15 or 30 minutes later, chances are that almost nobody's even seen your post and nobody knows you even forgot to add something in there. ;)
