Really awesome and interesting works you all have a go at!
Fact.. my WIP in the moment is really gigantic, the whole thing is approx. 5000 px with 300dpi big, the smaller version of it I almost update can be found here:
http://www.deviantart.com/view/12854138/
Original Size, so if you would print it, is Poster size... THX to my really beloved PC which runs still pretty fast, also opening this 45 layers of the PSD file there... *huggles her comp*
@clarion
Holy Heck! Your pic is going to be THAT awesome! At least it is already _________________ - hmm... did someone say "MUFFIN"? - |

I was sitting down this morning and looking to finnish a picture I started awhile back (page 4 of this thread). its VampirellaBo! yeah Vampirrella is another character, but I was making ToniBo as her. I still need to rearange the nose, lips, and eye area on this. I also need to get the shading right. any fantasy artists want to cc it Id love it...Diathene!

Time to finish up that elemental series for my dragons. This is a preview of the Light element dragon. Not too much different from a standard dragon, eh? That's in part because I don't know how to decor this element, and part of me wants to apply some K.I.S. decor to him as well. Besides, this is only half of the finished thing. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I'll just link to it, since the file size is a bit large. That's an oekaki pic I've been working on since Feb. 2003 (not steadily...that's just when I started it). I let it sit, then go back in and tear parts out and redraw them. D: I gotta quit doing that if I'm ever going to finish (which is why the perspective errors that are in there now are just going to stay).
That is Oekaki!?!?!? wow! Im breathless! I think its finished.
What program? |

Damn Yambe, that's nice. Do you have a deviant art gallery, cause I swear I've seen your work before somewhere else. I hope you do really get around to finishing this one, those ringlets are cute, hehe.
This is one of my multitude of wips atm:

Bruce, I'm really bad at cc, or explaining how I do things coherently. It's why I rarely comment around FAC or any other art site, that and it's not worth the backlash and flames I used to get frm what I thought were helpful comments. Anyway...I did a very quick, muddy and rough paintover on Vamp Toni though I don't know if it'd help at all, I basically upped the contrast and added more shadow to create a spookier atmosphere ;p
I didn't touch her facial structure as I didn't have a mirror handy to reference. All I did was open her mouth a touch, as her regular teeth looked a bit long to me.
As far as hair is concerned, I really can't emphasise enough how fantastic a tablet is, it makes things SO much easier and makes it look a lot more fluid. I usually start with a "lump" of hair then block in the shading, blend it together and add whisps of lighter colour over the top. See, no sense at all ;p
I realise paintovers are a sore point for some so I apologise in advance if you're pissed, and I'll take it down post haste :o
Edit, uh yeah, the picture would help right?

Diathene, I love the new wip....oh God that didnt sound good at all. as for anyone getting upset when you cc'd thier work, I noticed people are too sensitive. Bullsnake and co just tore up two of my pics in a cc in a contest...its all good. Im sure you would never flame.
as for the picture, I wish I had a tablet. mine is all mouse in PSP8, which other artists seem to say is harder than other programs?! I like what youve done with the hair and contrast...the teeth shocked me, but Ive changed them 4 times now, so it shouldnt have really. by changing the contrast (?) how did you achieve such a glassy look to the overall face? I like it. the reflections in the eyes where a nice touch too.
lol, I knew I was right in asking for a specific artist on this one your genre of work is what I always wanted to get into...so why not ask for advice from someone that I enjoy works from! Ill have to look into the tablet thing and what program do you run? on these kind of pics I dont do my usual MSP sh*t and go right to PSP instead, and no, most underacievers think a program will instantly make them Michealangello. Im just thinking that mayby PSP isnt the cats meow when it comes to doing certain tasks, or...or, I just dont have all of its tools!
thanks, Bruce

I use Painter Classic, which came free with my tablet. I don't think I could go back to using any other programme, heh. It simulates real medium quite impressively and is very simple and intuitive to use. No layers though, but I like that ;p . There's a page here with a basic outline of the tools I use the water tool to blend, which can create a nice translucent effect on skin and hair.
I used to use PSP before I got Photoshop, and I got Photoshop about 4 years ago, so I think PSP was about version 3 or something, hehe. I don't recall liking it much, but then again I've never been very good at mouse art.
You can probably pick up a second hand tablet cheap from ebay to see how you like em cause they take some getting used to. I'd be stuffed without mine, but I know a few people who hate using them ;p |

I checked out the site on the link provided. I like some of the tools you have on the program. Ill admit it is a pain sometimes working with a mouse, but Ive been using it and a catpad (which I think was an archaic version of a tablet) for so long Im just used to it.
as soon as I saw the little sample for the water tool I could see it was the one used on the skin. I think Ill check out Painter. I went to their link provided to "buy" and noticed that its a Corel product. I used (with some difficulty) Corel paint years ago, and with ease thier Photo Paint. they always made powerful programs, so I guess Ill see if Painter is as user friendly as the old Photo Paint was. whats really odd is that I see PSP9 on the same page as a Corel product...I thought Jasc was its own entity? either Corel bought them out or Jasc was a spin off company of Corel. Ive got to look into tablets more also. I may just like the way they draw better.
thanks for the info and cc...Bruce
this is the latest version of the painting of Bo. I looked over your rework and took aload of pointers off of it....let me know. oh I did keep the teeth the same though. JPGs look really horrible on my monitor...I hope it dosent distort to much on yours! _________________ 'It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. Here are some sprites I'm working on. There modled after Bleedman's comic. The funny thing is, I don't really care for the Powerpuff Girls, anime, or video games, yet I'm making these anyway. I just thought that the style was so cute, I love pixel art, I love animating stuff, and I just got Flash, so what the heck? Now all I need to do is finish them and learn how to make a fighting game. I plan to add a kick, punch, jump, duck, running, and an animation where they take a blow to the head... so it's still going to take a while until I'm compleatly done. _________________ |

Those pixel Powerpuffs (Pixelpuffs, haha! Lame) look cute. And the painting of yours is coming along well, Bruce. _________________

Amy the power puff are excellent! my son is great with animations too. I love seeing the latest stuff youve been producing. keep them coming. the "slut" pic came out great Will. I like the touch of Scot on her skirt. lmao, I dated a redheaded, greeneyed Scotish girl in HS. if she was a toon, she'd look close (especially the bat)! ahhh, and you wonder why it says "I love beatings."
oh, thanks for the thumbs up on the VampirellaBo thing. I still want to do a little more to the cloud thing and the grounds. _________________ 'It has been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first.' - Ronald Reagan |

This is the one I'm working on currently, I hope to have it done by tonight. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

A dimention of sight, sound, and of mind....
This is going to be my first submission for Pixel Gala, and I'm also going to enter it in the sci fi currently running in the contest forums. It's not finished yet, but can anyone tell me who it is? _________________ |

VR_Jay (Will) is holding a contest to draw characters that hes made. I started my version of "Buttercup" (a powerpuff). oh, and yes, the small paper I use, cause of my scanner, forces me to do multipule pages and piece them together. then reline in paint. so if you cant notice the hard darker lines...thats computer drawing. I want to make this like the VampirellaBo pic, so it will be a while. crituque away...
