Dear strata and silver,

sorry i thought i put fan fictions in this area -uneasy look- Also about your quistions
1.A friend told me Bakka meant basterd so i went with with that
2.If you watched the movie The ring and learned about its origens they are [B][U]JAPANESE It all started with koji suzuki's book Ring Then it became the movie called ringu and the ring 2 came out and ring 0 and so on and so forth.
3. WE ARE NOT IN MIDDLE EARTH we are actually in America But the person who dose the "bakka" (since you seemed not to like my story i will tell you) turns out to be Sadako Yamura who is in RINGU shes the person who dies in the well
4. thanks for your comments i enjoyed reading them
5.im only 13 this is the first fan i ever wrote so if its crappy you'll know why

Or do you need some serious help and critiques? If that's the case then please use the Fanfiction Critiques subforum (and for your own safety, [i]please[/i] follow the Critique subforum's rules).

The Fanfiction section here is for discussions about the fanfiction genre, not for "Show & tell".

and btw: not only did you not spell [b]baka[/b] right in the first place, but it means [i]idiot[/i], not [i]bastard[/i]. and even though i'm not fluent in Japanese, i know enough to know that one of the most basic rules is that words show neither gender or number. Basically; there are no plurals, even if adding an 's' to the end would be the right way.

what is Japanese doing in a Lord of the Ring fic anyway?

- Script-fics (like what you've posted) are unacceptable, period. Please rewrite it in standard prose format.

- Why on Middle-Earth would the characters be using japanese?

- ... that is, we [i]are[/i] in Middle-Earth, right? Or are we? :huh:

An apology, eh? Better than refusing to admit making any mistakes.

Mistakes happen. Now pick yourself up off that ground and continue onwards! Or whatever you want to do.

Besides, it feels like too many people have been apologizing lately for what are really just minor goofs (usually because of being new to FAC's forums)....

The two links I gave you in my response, one is for Nate's writing tutorial (very long, takes some time to read, but it has great tips for description and dialogue) and the other was for a thread regarding random japanese words thrown into fanfics.

Problem with script-fics is that they're all dialogue and no supporting description or narration to help portray a scene with -- I'm sure you have some good mental pictures of what your scenes look like, be sure to fill us in on the visuals a little, right? We can't read minds ;)

Yup, "The Ring" is based on the japanese movie Ringu (but that's as far as my knowledge of the matter goes). In the interest of not confusing your fic title with official LOTR and helping make clear that this is a [i]crossover[/i], have you considered calling it something like, perhaps, 'Lord of the Ringu' ?

PS: You didn't [i]have[/i] to edit your initial post, a response to this topic would have been just as welcome.
