I did some research today with my three browsers (NS, IE, and Firefox). We know how the text on the FAC main page always appears smaller on Firefox, right?

I think I've found out why - here's a quick assemblage of screens taken from each browser. At the bottom is an excerpt from the HTML source of FAC's main page, I notice that the font declarations are not actually included in the stylesheet like everything else! Meaning that the text on FAC's main page is shown using the browser's default settings (proof: Change the default font to something wacky, like Wingdings, notice how this affects the text on the main page but NOT on the forums).

The fix seems simple enough: Just add the font specifications back in to the stylesheet. Specifying it for the BODY element should be enough -- but if it isn't, then specifying it for the P, LI, and TD elements should take care of the rest.

Alternatively, you can increase Firefox's default font size by going to Tools > Preferences, General, then click "Fonts & Colors" and increase the default font size to something larger (like 14 or 16pt) until it looks about right.

These are the screens. Additional info:
- Netscape's default font size is 16pt, and the text is shown at 12pt.
- Firefox's default font size is 12pt, but the text is shown at 9pt.

That commented out peice of style sheet was used for testing. The test failed (looked bad)

I prefer using the default browser size rather that explicitly setting because it allows people to change the size on their own.

Next re-desing I will be using a sans-serif font rather than a serif one tho. At the moment, it doesn't look good as such IMO.

Ah. (Times New Roman is one of my favorite fonts, btw... Tahoma/Verdana feel too plain)

At any rate, if you increase Firefox's default font size from 12pt to 16pt, that should make the text appear the same as it does on IE and NS. (It does for me, at least...)
