Which do you base your comments and favorites on? Do you see something from your favorite anime and instantly add it to your favorites, or do you recognize the pure tallent and effort put into a work, even if it's something you can't relate to as well. I'm sure that both influcence most everyone, but which one grabs your attention more? Do you think that some artists don't receive proper attention because they draw obscure images, or are some subjects compleatly ignored because they'd be difficult to incorporate in a work of art?

hm, personally it's a bit of each. While I appreciate goo talent and hard work more, I usually search for pics in my favorite section. So, most of my fave pics are in the game section, or the anime/manga section. ^^;

It kind of is both, but leans a bit more on subject. I am more likely to look at things in my interest group, of course, I wouldn't favorite a stick figure even if it was my fav anime.

I try to view a wide range of things. To limit yourself to one type of material, you just don't grow.

Despite how much I like, say, dragons, how often do I actually comment on a dragon picture around here? Quite rarely, actually.

Thus, I tend to go for talent. I'm more likely to leave a comment if it's a little weird, from an artist that I already know, or just seems to have a lot of originality behind it. Of course, subject matter has its influence too, since I don't "see" much originality in most anime/manga, etc. ... there's a bit of both, but talent wins in the end.

Personally, I think that content and uniqueness is important, not to say skill and talent go by the wayside. I'd much rather see a good piece of orignal art than an great piece of the same old fanart.

a mixture of both, however, I do tend to comment and favorite works more based on talent and techniques used.

If there is much talent and effort put into a picy, i'll most likely to leave a comment. this especially goes if the drawing was made with traditional media (paints, colored pencils, charcoil..and so on), because I do know how TOUGH and fustrating it is to use traditional tools (after all, there is no 'undo' button ;p ).

however..this changes when it comes to gohan fanart......I tend to automatically like any kind of gohan fanart...that is original that is.
