Well, this particular problem is a bit touch & go, so to speak... if we knew what the true culprit was, then denis'd probably have it fixed by now. I'd place my bet (the whole $.02 worth) on the culprit being a spoiled cookie somewhere along the line.

I've had this login trouble once, myself, but the strange thing was that it seemed to go away on its own after a few minutes (and a browser re-start).

Clearing out your cookies basically means losing all your auto-login sessions, nothing more. In other words, whatever sites you'd be automatically logged in to, all you have to do is log back in.

BTW, have you tried logging in from the forums? The FAC forums use a different login session than the FAC main page, but they use the same username/password system. That's something not everybody "gets", is that signing up on FAC automatically signs you up on the forums too.
