Hoe do you change a picture from a BMP or whatever? And what is a BMP anyways!?

BMP = "bit map". The contents of a BMP file are a direct copy of how it appears in memory, thus compared to other image formats, BMP files can be loaded from the hard disk for display VERY quickly. Unfortunately, this also means zero compression!

To change a file from one format to another, on your Save As dialog box, open the "Save As Type" dropdown list and examine your options.

When you want to show an image across the Internet, use GIF or JPEG file format (instead of BMP), because those have good compression ratios (JPEG is better for scanned or smoothly shaded CG stuff, GIF is better for pixel art) .
