Anyway, I was wondering if this could work in an opposite sense... Let me see if I can explain this without confusing meself..... ~`.'~ (thinks hard)

If you happen to be looking around and find someone on a different site using pics from FAC. Artist you know who don't post other places or only post thier pics up once. Oops. I'm confused now.... *sigh*

I guess what I'm tring to say is lets say you see someone using a pic from an artist @ FAC that you know is stolen from that artist. Like their other stuff looks totally different or something. Would you post that here or go to that artist?

Because I'd like to know if there's someone out there stealing my pics or my friends pic or ect....

I hope that makes sense. @'_'@

Edit: For example: My pic..

(note this is only an example and the cite has my permission to post it there.)
My pic posted somewhere else ( but say someone else was all like, "This is my art I drew this," Yadayada...

It would be unusual, sure, but I don't think it would be a problem. Keep in mind that if/when the thief is an offsite (non-FAC) user, all we can do is file a report with whatever site they're on.

Have you ever thought that perhaps its the same person? Many people on FAC have accounts on DA and other fansites.

true, but the picture from FAC is the forum poster...

I'd be PISSED if someone stole my picture to post it somewhere else. one of the reason why 4 chan and anime image boards block Japanese IB addresses... it pisses many Japanese artists to see their pictures getting kicked around by a foreign image board.

 The fact that they stole your art wouldn't make you made?

Maybe I'm being stupid or pigheaded, but if the time I spent and the effort I put into my drawings was claimed by someone else... I'd feel like I just wasted the day(s), week(s) or month(s) was a waste. Why draw my own art when I can just easilly steal another persons, and get away with it.

Honestly I really don't see the point of stealing someone's art. It's lame. The only reason I could think of is so other people think your good and will gush all over "your" talent. <_<

Anyway,...
Keep in mind that if/when the thief is an offsite (non-FAC) user, all we
I did think about that, but then I thought, "Why would they post thier art twice?" There are probably reasons for it but none I thought of were any good. Most people seem to post links to thier other art. I think.

Those who say they would consider art theft flattery have usually never had their art stolen. As soon as it is, that attitude always changes.

I've never had any art stolen from me, but my friend did (by one of HER friends, actually). Art theft is NOT flattering.
I had my art stolen once, actually PHYSICALLY stolen,
Me too. Except, it happened multiple times. Last year, I had some art on display in my school and someone actually broke into the glass case and stole it. o_o; Really, some people...

I'd like to have my art back, but there's nothing to be done about it if it's physically stolen, so... If it's digital, I'd be out kicking ass if my art got stolen. The hours and effort spent on it - all taken just for someone else to boost their ego by getting comments they don't deserve? There's hell to pay. >Neutral
