I remember reading a while back about how it's not allowed to post art that's copied directly from another existing picture; only if it's been changed a bit so that it's not an exact copy.
But I had an art assigment a while ago in which I had to copy a picture exactly (we were working on value and the requirement was to draw something with high contrast).
Basically, I did a black and white version of this:

Now, it turned out really well, and I was hoping that I'd be able to display all my hard work in my gallery (it took me 14+ hours to finish it) . Would it be okay to post it if I acknowledged that this was a direct copy of an existing artwork? |

I think they mean actually copying it , like with tracing paper or something. As it was an art project thing then it should be okay to put up. Just to be sure put that it was sone for art in the description. Also it might be good to put a link to the original pic and say that referance was used. I may be wrong but if I am then I have been doing it wrong all this time. |
