Are we allowed to report sprites even though the person says that they used a base for it? : O _________________

Sprites taken from videogames are a form of screenshot, and thus are copyrighted material and may not be built upon, colored or edited over, or used as a base.
(Not sure if that's the answer you were hoping for, though) _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I hate the idea of allowing bases to be used in pixel art. It's like building on top of something someone else made, and I bet that since they're apparently allowed is why a lot of people think MSPainting over an existing image is okay because it's the same principle.

No I mean that they were "ripped" from someone else. They acknologed that they were using a base (this isn't pixel art people, it's sprites) from someone elses.
I kind of think that's like painting over something and calling it your own, but should I report them? ( I have an extreme amount of people who do this... ) _________________
this isn't pixel art people, it's sprites
Sprites are pixel art. o_o
If it's a base off another person's sprite, I think it's okay as long as they have express, written permission from the original artist to use it. If not, then, even if they have a disclaimer, it's still art theft and should be removed. _________________

Pixel art is like Amy's work. Mspainting over a base is not Pixel art to me. Ok. _________________

Videogame sprites (especially the 8-bit sprites) qualify as Pixel Art by the definition that they were created by pixel editing. The difference is that they were created by a team of game developers and artists, and have legally recognized copyrights covering them. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

ANYWAY, If it's IMO, than it's not pixel art. I don't care about anyone elses. I just want to know if I can report them, if they've listed someone else's name for using the bases for. GOSH... so off topic. xD _________________
