Upload Pic Trouble

when i try to upload my pics i get the following mesasage:
[b]The file you uploaded doesn't appear to be a valid image format for use on the internet. Type it is reported as: application/msword[/b]

can some one help me? cuz i think you might like my pics of INUYASHA very much!

You need to save the picture as a jpg, gif, or png file in an image program. If it's as an application/word file now, you can copy the image and then paste it into the image program and "save as" the right format. Some programs have an "export" feature under file where you can save the selection as an image, as well.

I don't know if it was this thread or the other one you were talking about (doesn't say), but if it's this one. What program are you saving your pic in? I assume it's a scanned image, yes? So what program are you using to save it? You need to use a program like photoshop, MSPaint, etc., and if it's a word document and you don't want to rescan, just copy the image then go to photoshop/MSPaint/Appleworks/etc and paste it in. Then go to file>save as>and choose "jpg" "gif" or "png" from the drop down file type menu. It'll probably be a jpg by default. Soooo, step by step, if that's easier than a paragraph of words:

1. Open your picture (in MSWord or whatever it is)
2. select it, edit>copy
3. Open an image program (photoshop, MSPaint, Appleworks, etc)
4. File>new
5. Edit>paste
6. File>save as
7. Type in the file name and then make sure it's a jpg in the drop down menu below that
8. Hit save.

To get an icon, go to "My Controls" up at the top of the forum and click on "edit avatar settings". You can upload a picture there.
