Your problem is probably that you're using one of the larger file format. All you need to do is pick a format that takes up less space.

What format did you change it to?

If you're using MS Paint, the "View" tab should be at the very top in between "Edit" and "Image."

bmp can't be uploaded, use jpeg....

On the Save As dialog, open the "Save as Type" dropdown list and look for a JPEG or PNG option.
