hmm.. yeah, some really waited for that step somehow, though I don't really count myself in there, I am rarely doing any Manga/Anime Art nor* making Wallpapers.
Also have to say, DeviantArt makes it easy to find stolen art, I just surfed through the art previews and found a few ones, the browse sites on DA are quite a good inventation. If someone posts on geocities for example.. you will never find it really, but on DA you know who took it and you definitely see it, that's why I think that inner DA Arttheft is getting rare, simply because the people know about this fact...

If you don't want your art to be taken or whatever, keep it away from the internet. Even if you just upload low res. art and also if its just on your personal website, there is no difference these who want to take your work and want to make profit of it do so... they find a way, I saw and see it still.

No community in that size could stay alive without any comerzial background, there are so many people working behind it, why should they do it all for free? As said, I don't think that they make any profit with me or my works, only that what I pay for my subscribiton, but DA fills my commission list every month so I can say its more the inverse way for me, also for these people who have prints which sell well. If DA would be that mean and would take the art and make money with it, just as they like, there wouldn't be any good artist there anymore... but as we see, there are still enough great peeps there. ... well hate me for it, but I still like DA... end. I must agree on what this person has to say. If you don't want to be artistically shanked at all then don't put you're art on the internet. This is how it is. The internet is a community of thieves. If you're afraid that someone might take you're art then dont't put up or put some kind of blocking right click code. Though it still won't block the brilliantly smart such as myself.

(sigh) Look even this place here people are most likely going to steal art. That's how it is and unless any of you guys are paying members there's nothing much any of us could do. Other than you risk the chance. Personally I do feel sorry for some of the Deviant Artist. It reminds me of a flash entertainment Agent. The type that show you off in the right well suited enviornment but with a very costly price. Personally I still think it's wrong unless they got there art copyrighted before putting it up on the net or Diviant Art. Personally if I was any of the artist I would do something about it. I mean if they joined with out reading it's sad unless you can claim you didn't understand it and blah blah which is going to be hard to even to bother to try to settle out of court. Though one day someone might have the balls and it may just might happen.

The case is when it comes to the big money sell COMMERCIAL use, you're not going to make a whole lot of money. In fact I wouldn't doubt if someone here in this site has been ripped off by one Commercial and probably 12 private owned. Ah-he. Okay maybe I take things into extreme then.
