Liquid Tension Experiment is an instrumental rock project of Dream Theater members John Petrucci (guitar), Jordan Rudess (keyboard), and Mike Portnoy (drums), as well as progressive rock bassist icon Tony Levin of King Crimson. The band plays fast, fusion-based pieces similar to those of Dream Theater, if somewhat more jazzy, and without vocals.
Have you ever heard any of their songs? Whats your opinion about their style? Do you like them?

YAY! Finally another person who likes Liquid Tension Experiment! I'm a big fan of their music but I like Dream Theater just as much. Not that much of a surprise since LTE en Dream Theater are pretty similar. I must say I prefer Tony Levin over John Myung (he can be quiet weird sometimes, for instance when they finish their show everyone is waving at the audience while Myung seems to walk away the very moment they're done :S).
John Petrucci is like....Almost a God I guess.
I think they've got a name for the type/genre they play: Progressive Instrumental Rock.
I'm in a band and we make the same kind of music. Bit of a mix of Dream Theater and LTE. In fact we just recorded a song in a real recording studio in Amsterdam It sounds friggin proffesional We'll put the song and video clip on the web when it's done but I'll let you know Avy cause I'd like to hear your opinion of it.
I think Change of Seasons and Stream of Consciousness are my fav Dream Theater songs. Acid Rain is one of my fav LTE songs. What are your favs Avy?

I really like Universal Mind and the "5 minute warning series" of LTE, and from Dream i'd have to say.... um... overture and erotomania are quite good _________________

Halleluja! Got nothing to add to that.
I wonder how many ppl actually know about LTE... At least the guitar/rock nuts around the world but other than that? _________________ I'm like a hunter of peace. One who chases the elusive mayfly of love... or something like that |

^_^ Hmm... not bad. However I'm a much bigger fan of Symphony X. They're fairly similar to Dream Theater (at least many people try to compare the two) in that they blend in alot of instrumental and even, at times, jazzy elements.
