Hello, all you fellow fans of this, that and the other... Umm, I know this is an art fansite (and I do have a gallery here), but this particular forum covers music. So, being a musician and songwriter, I decided to share some of that with the world as well. I just posted my first metal track on another fansite that does music (as well as art and literature). If you can check my work out, and let me know what you think of it, either by posting here or there, I would really appreciate that - yes, I really would (I mean that!!!) And you might ACTUALLY like the song Cool

Hiya Meastro!
You share a lot of hobbies with me: Like drawing, composing, music/metal etc. Though I'm not a beginner at playing guitar XD
I've listened to your song (a couple of times now) and I found some good stuff and things I didn't like that much.
I'll start of with the less good stuff: -The mix sounded a bit "dry" though that not may be up to you... And it sounds a bit...I dunno simple maybe..Not that that has to be a bad thing of course...
If you ask me the guitar could have used a lot more volume.
And..No that were all the badparts really >.>
I really like how you composed the piano/orchestra bits. And I absolutely love the guitar solo ^_^

So yeah great work overall!

Thanks, man! I agree on all of your suggestions. I'm slowly acquiring better gear (and more knowledge) to soon be able to mix professionally. Cool

Yes, piano and keyboards are my forte, whereupon guitar is a new venture to me. <_< Thanks a Mil for checkin' it out and sharin' your mind - it truly justifies the existense of these fan-peer sites! Do you have any of your work posted anywhere for listening?

When I first saw that the song was a metal one.... I thought that I wouldn't like it, but it sounds much more alternative than metal.
I quite like the song as a whole, but the part in wich you go crazy and start playing the real metal....... dunno, seems to me that its too empty and could use a couple of, lets say changes.
why don't you take a "extremist" approach (I'm talking about Joe Satriani's/G3's song) and put a little riff, like the one used by Joe, over it with a second guitar or another instrument and lower a little bit the volume on the first guitar?

just a couple of suggestions, I enjoyed it!

We recently recorded a song with our band. We make progressive (mostly)instrumental rock. Like Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment.
We also made a video to go with the song. Sadly we're suffering some problems converting the video so we can post it on the web but we will eventually post it. Probably on Youtube.com for starters...
I'll let you know when we post it on the web and where, I'd like your opinion of it so yeah... Good luck composing in the mean time ^_^
