Xigbar kept killing me, so I went back to the Pridelands and defeated the huge Heartless. That stupid attack Xigbar does, where he fires a zillion bolts at once always kills me, and I don't know how to counter it. :(
Hmm...I know I'm not a high enough level yet, but when do you get to fight Sephy? Cloud just keeps telling me to tell him if I see Sephy every time I go and talk to him. XD
I wish I could go and tattle to Tifa: "ZOMG, TIFA! I FOUND HIM! CLOUD'S IN ANSEM'S STUDY!"

It's after the town gets a new name. (try not to spoil here but it's hard)
You go back to where the 1,000 heartless were.
You can fight him anytime. _________________

I feel your pain on the Xigbar thing. When I first got the game, I couldn't stand going against him. Just level up, and then whenever he shoots continously in a circle, keep running in circles. You'll get less damage. If you're to a point where it's critical HP use Hi-Potions. That's all I can really say. : )
As for Sephiroth, most people level up to 80. When you do go against him though (at Dark Depths), continously use the Trinity Limit. That will be your best friend along with Drives. : ) |

Just started playing the game today, borrowed from a friend.
Pretty decent, but gets +5 coolness for having Fujin in it. _________________

Could you use the Trinity Limit? There wasn't any Donald and Goofy in that battle for me.
Besides, Sephy is easy as hell in KH2. All you need for it to be easy as pie is to have the following:
Glide (lvl3)
the aerial twist thinger(double jump)(lvl3)
quick run (lvl3)
and of course high jump(lvl3) will help
guard and guardcounter pwns him when he sneaks up behind you
second chance
combo thinger(so you dont die after a combo....which will help you live through any abuse you might come into
some hi-potions for when your MP is charging
MP rage
all your combo additives and special moves in (especially the air recover-->attack move...crucial)
cure
common sense
balls(metaphorical or real)
Basically just stay on the ground as long as he's away from you incase he uses the crazy strong attack that you can press triangle once for to leave him totally open for a very prolonged combo. When he goes to zap behind you after you pwn his ass just quick run out of the way. If he does still get you anyway(it's all when you time after he disappears) then just hit square in midair right when he zaps back to attack again in midair. Continue with combos in the air and run when you hit the ground(or just glide once he hits the ground) He will probably chase you down for a while with his own combos then do his speed-slash thinger. If you get chased by dark balls, just ignore them. They barely do any damage and are usually just there to distract you from sephiroth using his crazy ass move of KH2. So, go hit him before he finishes his glowy s**t.
It's easy as hell, really. Took me 5+ tries (if you count the 2 or 3 attempts at level 50-ish).
It wasn't supposed to go on this long but I enjoyed typing all that. |

I played the 1,000-Heartless battle over again just for fun. Snag+Sparkle Ray makes it too easy, so I went through it using just normal attacks and Rising Suns. Took a bit longer, but was a heckuva lot more fun since i couldn't just go zap Heartless by the 50's.
I wonder if I can survive it without using the Reaction commands at all... and without relying on items... heheh... that'll be a fun day to mash and slash.
Oh yeah, I challenged Sephiroth (Proud mode, Lv.47). He KO'ed me in two seconds flat! That opening combo of his would've killed me outright if it weren't for full MP and "Once More" equipped... at least you have a split second to block it....
I can hardly scratch him. The fact that he'll chase you up into the air certainly doesn't help matters this time (and he's hardly even trying). So far, my record is surviving about 15 seconds against him.
Additionally, I went for S-ranking the "Assault of the Dreadnought" Gummi level. Right after getting an S+2 rank on the Lv.3 (scoring) mission, the Keyhole disappears and this insane boss ship shows up... that thing drowned me in a sea of enemy fire. I mean, seriously, its shelling was so damn heavy that I couldn't see ANYTHING except for my lock-on target and enemy shells. Not even my own ship
(You can S+ rank any scoring mission, my highest is S+5 on one of the Highway levels.)

Yea, it doesn't matter if you don't have Donald or Goofy, Sora can do it solo. I found that out when I was reading the description. As for your way of defeating him...Haha, I'm such a loser. I hated leveling up my forms so I never got a long glide or a higher jump than the first level. x3
If ever I decide to replay KH2, though, I'll try it your way. : ) |

I only did it because you need glide and aerial dodge and high jump to do the Poster Duty in 30 seconds to complete jiminy's journal.
Then I remembered, hey.....I still have to beat Sephiroth. So I beat him with no problem at all around level 86-ish. ^_^ |

Hehheh. I tried to fight Sephiroth at level 51. I knocked off about 3/15 life bars. Go me. _________________ I have magical female powers

Normal or Proud?
I'm not even bothering with Scan. Partly because I can put the extra 2 AP to some use, and also because, when you don't know how much HP the enemy has left, you don't know how long you need to last against them, so you can't afford to make any mistakes.
I was up late last night. Went through the World that Never Was. The Sora vs. Roxas cutscene was pretty cool.
Then, on to Organization XIII's fortress. Xigbar took several tries to defeat namely because of that attack where he shoots you from all angles. Try to dodge it if you want, but I found it easier just to take the hits (with "Once More" equipped so it doesn't finish you off) and then heal up afterwards. I ultimately won the battle using Reaction Commands to knock Xigbar's charged powered-up shots back at him.
Luxord fell in a single match because I finally figured out how to do the card-game Reaction command (but it was still pretty close).
Saix fell in a single match as well, but man that was one major explosive battle. No wonder he's the one commanding the Berserker Nobodies... he fights just like them. *grabs weapon and smashes the Berserk out of him*
Riku finally showed up, and the opening battle against Xemnas was pretty cool, though obviously, that ain't the end. It was too easy to read his moves, and any combo starting with "Slide Dash" is a good one.
As for the final battle... what is it with RPG's and hourlong endgame fights? I think I made it to the last phase of the Sora+Riku vs Xemnas battle.
It was kinda odd to see enemies normally occuring only in the Gummi Levels... but Sora and Riku get to use the most spectacular of Reaction commands in that battle.
But by then I was too worn down and Xemnas eventually took me out. It was 4 a.m. at the time... and I needed to get some sleep. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

The Luxord card thing took me 3 tries to beat. It was very hard for me because at first I didn't understand how to do the reaction command thingy. I'm a dummy. _________________ I have magical female powers

Beat KH2 last night. Didn't see any secret ending though... probably because I didn't finish off Atlantica. Next time I go up against Xemnas, I'm going to be a few levels higher, so it probably won't ba quite as hard. Yes, the final fight against Xemnas himself is the final fight.
But... man, that was a LONG ending. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA
Were you on Standard or Proud mode?
Proud mode. The battle's actually quite climactic... the way the final part opens up... "Let's go together" and then suddenly you're fighting totally mid-air with Reaction commands, combos, and Retaliating Slash....
The part that really killed me the first time is when Xemnas traps Sora and Riku has to run to the rescue.
But part of the difficulty lies in how much patience you need to push through phase after phase of the fight, not in how strong Xemnas's attacks really are. His strongest attack was like 50% damage (relative to max HP) against me.
Whereas Sephiroth does like 50% damage to me per hit, and that's just his normal swing! _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I know! I died at that part too.
In any of their games, Sephiroth will always be the hardest boss, harder than the real final boss. _________________ Left for FAC, Right for DA |
