I have to say it would be the best cartoon movie since Sherk 2. Though it has some interesting storylines best to know that you will never find a movie that good for animation. Sherk 2 was good but this one seems like they could try to do it as a series. ^_^ I have to say this will most likely end up being the best i have ever seen!!!!!!!!! Very Happy Very Happy

See, I despised that movie.

I thought the voice casting was good, but ultimately the humor was so childish and the bad guy so evident that it didn't really appeal to me. After the first hour I thought to myself, "I want my ticket back."

Then again, that was just me.

That looked like a funny movie too me. But then, all computer animated movies look good to me.

The animation for that movie was horrible compared to Shrek 2.

You can tell that Hoodwinked was animated at a lower level (and budget) than Shrek 2.

Characters were quite interesting though, and following in Shrek's legacy, they packed it with in-jokes and pop culture references.

Yes, but I believed it was to the point where there were TOO many "in" jokes and pop references. It's a delicate art stringing real life and the imaginary into something that flows smoothly, and that's where I think "Hoodwinked" failed.

Hoodwinked is really the best animated movie out that was after Shreck 2. Though the animation was not that good the plot was great. You could tell right from the start it was the rabbit. Razz

I thought that Hoodwinked was crappy also. I didn't see it, but my boyfriend did and he said it sucked and from what I saw from the previews I can pretty much gather that it's a pile of suck. It was like the characters seemed too solid or not moveable enough...or something. It just didn't look very attractive. Now Shrek. That's where it's at. I did my junior research project on computer animation. When I had to do my presentation I used some Shrek Clips. ^_^

Hoodwinked might not be all that great but the rest of the other childish animation look like they have been copied from other movies. Like Over the Hedge. Shreck though is the bomb. It is one of the best animation movies I have seen in a while. Cool

These computer animated movies like this really annoy me. I was looking at the cover for this movie at the video store and on the front of it are the names of like 5 celebrities in big bold letters. The whole thing is stupid. These movies are supposed to be for kids, do you think kids really care if Xzibit is a voice actor in the movie. Maybe people should try making a cgi movie with an interesting story in it. Instead they're making a movie about Little Red Riding hood. LAME!
And the trend is continuing ad nauseum. Soon we get Over the Hedge, a movie about some rats or something trying to make their way over a bush. Sounds like the stupidest movie out there, but do people care. No they only care about the celebrities doing the voicework like Ray Romano or something.

I'm just getting sick of computer-generated animation period. What happened to good 'ol fashioned drawing by hand? Is nothing sacred?

Though I did enjoy Shrek 1 and 2 immensely...And Finding Nemo...And the Incredibles...I am getting sick of everything else.

Created a hand-drawn kid movie with a good plot, please.

Computer animation is easier to crank out and kids like the way it looks. Less Work + Low budget + crap story + Obligatory dance scene at the end = happy children and big profits.

As an animator-in-training, it makes me sad.

That said, Computer animation is still a lot of hard work. I've watched people spend hours on end modelling a single flour sack. Even legendary traditional animators like Glen Keene say they enjoy animating with the computer because it forces them to be a better artist. Writing off computer animation is like saying digital paitings shouldn't be thought of as art.

even though the animation was definitely sub-par (i agree with those who prefer true animation in comparison to cgi) but i think hoodwinked was still a very well-done film. it exceeded my expectations in being very funny and different in how the story was put together. the voicework was of course amazing, especially patrick warburton (who is the BEST). i'm so happy because i actually just got this movie for free as a promo at my work. i think this movie should get more appreciation and popularity since it tried to do something a little different on an obviously low budget.

I didn't get to see the movie in the theaters and only noticed it when they had a preview for it in my DVD for Doogal... <__<__>

It reminded me of Shrek (which I enjoyed both movies) but I'm not sure about watching this movie... ^__^;

I think the animation was simply a different style, like how The Incredibles looked like a moving comic book.

I thought the story was pretty decent, too, but it wasn't the best movie i've ever seen.
