Ah, Strata. By that, do you mean that automatically-resized pics are all now at original, full size? Because that seems to be the problem...

About that... Denis, I tried to change a pic, because of the sizing problem, but when I uploaded the new one in place of the old, no changes happened and the pic still stayed blown-up. :/
I even refreshed a couple of times, but it still stuck. I might check back and see if it's changed, but I doubt it.

And something like that seems to work with picture deletions; the javascript box [or somesuch] comes up, and I select to delete it. The window never changes, though, and most of the time, when I refresh, the deleted pic is still there. However, if I log on the next day or sometime and check again, the pic is usually gone.
Is this some sort of lag? It's a minor problem for now, I suppose, but I'd like to know, is all. Very Happy

You're still working on the pictures and story comments, right? Because unless they were recent comments after v2.0, other older comments aren't counted. :/
I know all of the views are... and I'm not so sure of the favorites. I have some pics with favs, but others with 0, and a lot of them I think might've had at least a few. :/
[edit] Ah, yes, I've checked it now, and some pics have definately been faved that don't show up on the count. :/
It's weird because some of them from the earliest were recorded, but any favs for the later, more recent pics were not. So I'm guessing the system's catching up slowly or something?
So favs and comments on those pics need to be fixed.

Oh, and you know how, in the gallery, it has _username_ and then, in parentheses, the number of pictures? You should change it for the stories, so the parentheses will give number of stories. It currently only shows pic numbers again. Smile

And, stories still need views and comment counts fixed.

Pictrure comments count failed, I'll be trying it again tonight during non-peak hours.

faves count SHOULD be right as should views.

I'll look into the reuploading pics bug

When I try to browse the recently submitted pictures with Firefox, usually the thumbnails don't show up at all.

They do show up in other browsers...but it's just kinda inconvenient to have to switch. =/

I readed earlier messages, abd noticed: ...Also note there was/is a bug related to users who's usernames start with a number having broken pics -- at least new submissions... So its all about my username? And this isnt fixed yet? At least I still have that problem... Confused

You were affected by that bug, but it should only affect one of your pictures which will be fixed soon.

The bug itsself should be fixed.

All of your pics look like they are working to me.

forums will speed up when stuff is stable enough to give them persistant connections.

Mmn, no denis, I'm absolutely sure the favs has a problem. It's only affected my more recent [like, 3 out of 4 pages] but it's there. I've checked; there are artists that have a pic of mine faved on the list, but when I look at the pic, it has a fav count of 0. :/

Also; thanks for fixing the pic count on an artist's gallery page, but there's another mild problem... It does seem to take in added pics, but when I deleted a few pics... the count didn't go down, so it's counting a couple more for pics that are now already gone.

Ah, thanks for the resizing, but I'm still wondering, have you fixed the upload options? Because some of my old pics were uploaded after being taken by a digital camera, as I didn't have a scanner available at the time, and the quality really is very poor. I have a scanner to use now, so at the very least, I wanted to see if I could scan in the pic and upload it. It makes the picture look so much better, and I don't plan on changing anything else.

And denis, on the stories... there's really some problem there. Someone's commented now on one of my stories, after the new version is up, and it still doesn't register any views OR any comments. :/

But, of course, take your time. Thanks for the new site, I really do love it! And there's no rush, I'm just taking note.

Okay, I've encountered 4 problems with the new site. (Just signed up 3 days ago, so I don't know if they are true bugs or whatever.)

1st bug: I've been waiting 3 days for a validation e-mail, and it hasn't arrived. I did check the FAQ thread on the forum, checked on everything it said to check, and it was none of those problems. It said to request a new validation e-mail via the forum log-in screen, but that's to request a new forum *password*.
(I've posted a request for a new forum password in the General Help section, still waiting for a reply. Also sent an e-mail to the support section of this site.) This is probably not a bug of any sort (and if it is, I apologoise for wasting your time and mine), but I'm beginnning to get a little desperate.

2nd bug: When updating my forum profile to show my e-mail - i.e. when I click the yes box to show my e-mail in my profile, and clicking submit - when I go to my profile, my e-mail is not showing, and when I checked the update profile page again, it said I had decided not to show my e-mail.

3rd bug: I requested a new forum password twice, but each time, when I activated it and attempted to input the password, it said "log-in failed". It was still accepting my oroginal password. (At the time I thought it was a request for a new validation e-mail).

4th bug: This might be more of a minor problem to the site than a bug, but it's this: when I click the FAQ button on the homepage, it says: "This will link to the FAQ section of the forum", but their is *no* link of any sort that I can see. This should perhaps be fixed.

1. This seems to happen to some people. Either a) your ISP is blocking it for some reasons such as detecting it as spam. b) its in a spam folder of your mailbox. c) your email in your profile is just wrong (this is a very common one, people are dumb) or d) it just got lost on the 'net somewhere.

Either way, if you change the email in your profile a new one will be sent to the new address.

2. The checkbox should work, but the profile page is just plain missing the email address. This will bed fixed as will the checkbox if my testing shows its broken.

3. Do not use the forum password recovery. It does not work. Use the main site one. I've got to take that out of the forum.

4. I'll fix this, didn't get around to linking it when I migrated over the forum.

Ah, thanks denis, no great rush.
I think this is a small bug too; someone recently commented on a story, but where it tells you which chapter they commented on, it gave a 'chapter 0', which doesn't exist, obviously. this is for a multi-chapter story.
[And, in case you needed to know, all are old stories posted from the older version of FAC, not v2.0]

I've found another minor bug.

I've recently tried getting a picture into my gallery, which got rejected due to a broken link. (this ins't a complaint about that, don't worry.)
I've tried again, (this means my gallery is basically empty besides the picture currently in th approval queue), and the counter saying "Number of Pictures" on my profile says "2", when my gallery is empty.

Oh, and by the way denis, I think I've mentioned this before... but you do know that the 3-pic a day rule is completely gone? I guess it's not that big a problem, but the reason it was there, to block out spammers pushing over peoples' pics down, is really coming forth. I'm seeing people posting anywhere from 4-12 pics a day. :/
Just getting to be a bit annoying, you know? Not sure if this is intentional or not.

Oh, and one more thing. the 'last visit' in the profile, it isn't updating. I mean, I was on just yesterday and it only registers May 18. I don't think it's just me, as a lot of other profiles also seem to have the same date, though I don't know for sure that it's all of them.

Hi. I might be the only one with this problem, but ever since the new version of FAC is up, I haven't been able to use the 'browse categories' link. I can look at pics in my gallery, and from my gallery I can go to other people's galleries through the category links under my pics, BUT I can't go into any category THROUGH the 'browse categories' button, because every time I click on it, my Explorer crashes. Any ideas?

- 3 pics a day rule has been a staple of FAC for some time. "Featured Pics" aspect makes lowgrade picspam less of an issue, but still....

- "Browse Categories" link uses some funky javascript + cookie + CSS work to make it view like an expandable folder list.

I think I've noted on this before once... there's a pretty annoying fanfic problem where the stories are all spaced out really far between paragraphs or lines, usually about two or three lines long with the background gray in the middle.
It wasn't too bad, but now there's broken gaps of gray between the white sometimes that I'm noticing, and it's cutting out entire lines of a story with only tips of letters showing.
Could you try and fix this sometime soon, making the stories all on one page? it also makes pages hugely long and the scrollbar small, and is a real pain for reading. :/

Now I can see full sized pics of mine, but not resized... Instead of resized pic it shows that "cannot create thumb" In picture list theres that same "cannot..." And I can see resized pic of other artists, even if theres that "cannot..."-logo in the picturelist... So, I noticed that the problem is in the resizing... Weird... Confused

There's a few things I've noticed.
-Picture's in my favs thta appear as thumbnails haven't updated in a week or more, there's some there that I don't have faved any more.
-Also, on my profile it says the last day I visited was May 18, 2006, while I last updated my profile was May 22, 2006.
-Also, are any new pictures being approved right now. My friend has tried submitting new pics on two seperate days and none have been approved or put on the site.
-This is less of a problem than a request, but can you put the thing back that said how many people have faved you, or at least put numbers next to the names of people so it's possible to tell.
