Alright, so I've been playing Sly 3, and I'm wondering...is it really as long as it seems?
Me and my sister have been taking turns playing, and after about 15 or so hours, we're only 49% done.

Also, would it be worth it to go back and play the other 2 in the series? I really like the third one, but I'm a bit uneasy on going backwards in the games.

Sly 3's completion % includes all the Master Thief challenges that are available upon returning to a previously completed episode.

Meaning, you'll be finished with the game shortly.

Ohhh, alright. Cool...
My sister and I were also wondering if Dr. M's the last boss...after the vault. He's pretty tough to beat, so we were guessing that was near the end o_O

Heheh, well...we've beaten the last two games of the series, and now we're into the first game. It's kind of a let down that it's more of a platform game than anything else. You can't sneak, there are no easily accessed platforms that you can jump on using circle, and you even have a set number of lives Confused .

Kind of funny how #1 = hardest, #2 = moderately hard and #3=easiest of the 3.

Did anyone else go through the series and find the same thing, or am I just insane?

I agree, the first game was the toughest, although Sly did have the ability to land on sharp points (which you got from defeating the first boss, of course. Pity they didn't implement it into the design of previous levels though.)

Though, in my case, I actually liked the first game the best. Second game was okay, and quite longer, but overall not quite as memorable. Third game was better (I especially liked the 3D glasses support, it took some adjusting but it really did work), though at the end when Sly takes a hit and Carmelita covers for him, I just couldn't buy it. Too damn convenient... even though Sly's final parting glance to Bentley explained why. Wink

Sly's first outing is still my favorite of the three. On repeated playthroughs I particularly liked how you could unlock developers' commentaries for most of the levels.

I actually played the games all backward. The third was the first one I played, and I really enjoyed it. The voice acting was done well, and it had some hilarious moments and bosses.

In the second one I could not stand Nela...she was one of the most annoying characters =/

But so far I've only played the first one for about 5 minutes, but after watching my sister play for about 30 mins, I'm not too sure I'll be able to get the hang of not having all of the convenient O button moments Sad

As for memorable moments...I really liked in the second one where Sly danced with Carmelita (even though it took forever '=/ )
And in the third one where Sly kept going on about pasta : D

Don't worry, you'll get them. Sly earns the Spire Jump after defeating the first boss, and Rail sliding after defeating the second boss -- two important abilities that Sly started the second and third game with.

I did find it kinda too easy how in the first game you can trip the alarms before the laser-beam traps become deadly, but as explained in one of the developer commentaries, originally the yellow laser beams actually DID kill you but they decided to change it, because otherwise you wouldn't get to experience running around with the alarms blaring and all the guards rushing to figure out where you are.

Ah, alright. My sister already beat the game, and I really like what Sly does to Carmelita in the end. That was funny Smile

After visiting Sucker Punch's website, it seems that even the people who made the game were really proud of how it came out (which they should be...it's a great game), and they've got tons of things to download and contests and everything : D. It seems that a lot of the things are aimed at children, though. I see this as more of a game that older people would play. Even the story is appealing to older teens.

Clockwerk was easier to beat than some of the other bosses...but that Crocodile lady was probably the easiest. Muggshot was annoying to beat, since you had to jump every time he shot.

Overall, for a series rating...I'd say this series deserves an 8/10, losing points on the somewhat repetitive missions and the lack of being able to play as Bentley or Murray in the first game.

I wouldn't call that a demerit considering it was the first game....

Well, series overall =P
I mean, I'm just bitter 'cause I played the games in reverse, I guess. The third game is love.

But you have to admit, the missions are kind of...repetitive. Chase this guy, steal these keys, break these objects, collect these items, etc.

Though if you have a lot of time...it is pretty fun Smile
And the cutscenes...makes it seem like a live comic book Very Happy

Love, it's just frowned upon to post in a topic that's been dead for so long. It's perfectly acceptable to create a new topic, and if you should do so there wouldn't be anyone "punishing" you for doing so.
