GIMP help! Please? <3 <3 <3

Now I understand that when you first get a program, it takes time to finally fully understand everything. However, I would most certainly appreciate some help with it from any people that own this program.

Give me some tutorials on lineart, how to put in backgrounds, how to color images properly, cool effects, what the deal is with layers and how to use them, and everything else there is to know about this program.

I am determined to get my pics to look like this

or anything in that colorful, vivid, clean, and brilliant looking way.

If you have any REALLY good tutorial sites or if you have great info of your own, please take the time to show me how to do this. If somebody on here finds me the greatest tutorial that gives me the capabilities to do beautiful works of art, I will remember you and make ya sumthin. In time of course.

lol Celesse. Her art is good, but I find it to be rather boring. :/

I couldn't even find where to download that damn program. Maybe I just have a short attention span, but if I have to search a site for a download page, I quit. x:

Celesse is the dA username of the artist that drew that picture. I was simply commenting on her as an artist. Why? I dunno.

And for the download thing, I was mentioning that I'm an idiot and can't find the download page for GIMP. :D

And the download site is http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html

However, I suggest you download the runtime environment 1st and then the actual program. I almost messed that all up when I downloaded the program! *sweatdrop*
