|These have generally been the two most common flubs about requesting new categories for FAC, so I will answer them here for clarity. In other words, if you read nothing else, then just keep these two rules in mind:
- We need to have at least 25 pictures already submitted to FAC before we will create a new category for them.
To get an idea of how many pictures are out there, do a search for the category you are requesting and see how many pictures show up. The more pictures that show up, and the greater variety of artists submitting them (preferably by at least five different users) the better the odds that we'll add a new category for them.
- You do not actually need the new category before you can submit fanart related to it.
All category headings have a miscellaneous, "Other not listed" type subsection you can use for submissions which do not already have a category of their own. Don't keep yourself waiting on a new category before submitting art! Just submit your art already, to the appropriate "Other not listed" heading. This will help demonstrate the demand for a new category for when you do request the new section.
