I have a question: are the Japanese as obsessive over cleansiness as anime protrays? I mean, with keeping the house/rooms clean, shrine chores, how students took turns keeping the classroom clean (chalkboard/eraser duty), even the way some Japanese still use the old bathhouses. I even heard an artist who did a music video in Tokyo mention that even the subways were very clean.
They're not really obbsessive about the cleansiness, just proud, I suppose. I always thought it would be so dirty (I always pictured something like NY, I guess) but I was talking to my friend's cousin who moved to Japan and he was saying that it was amasingly clean, even the streets were kept pretty clean. So like I said, I think they're just proud to have a place so populated kept clean.
