Love her? Hate her? Never even heard of her?
She isn't very popular in Canada, but from what I've heard her song "I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair)" is everywhere in the UK. She supposedly rose to fame after a webcast concert grew from an audience of 60 to 60,000, but there have been rumours going around that it was all a hoax, perpetrated by the record company as a publicity scam.
As for myself, I love the song. It's catchy and clever and I can relate to it 100%. I don't really give a crap whether the story is true or not, I just like the music.
