Trusty Bell

Have you guys heard of this game? It's called "Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream" in Japan, but it's name is changed to "Eternal Sonata" for release in America. It's for the XBox 360 (which, unfortunately, I don't have!) and the screenshots that I've seen are gorgeous! The setting and clothes and backgrounds are beautiful, set in some baroque or classical period in time. Ah, here we go:
The story takes place in a dream world dreamt by no other than the famous composer Frdric Chopin (1810-1849) himself, three hours before his early death in a hospital. In this dream, Chopin meets a young girl named Polka and a 16-year-old boy Allegretto. Polka, whose death is drawing near, lives with her mother in a village called Tenuto. In this dream world, however, those with incurable illnesses possess magical powers. Due to this, people tend to eschew the poor girl, except for Allegretto, who has determined to help her.

In their ventures the three are drawn into battles that focus on action, which makes Allegretto's sword skills and Polka's more or less powerful umbrella quite useful. The party will also receive reinforcement from a mysterious man called Beat.

Considering the identity of the key character, it comes as no surprise that music has a special emphasis in the game. In the Japanese version, famous actor Leo Morimoto will provide narration, and Russian pianist Stanislav Bunin will perform Chopin's original piano scores.

The overall musical composition will be the work of Motoi Sakuraba, who is well-known for his production for the Tales series. Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream seems to have other features common to Tales games, as well. The character illustrations, setting, artwork and even original names that are all musical terms that resemble those of the Tales series.

I remember hearing about this way back in spring or something, but I was too lazy to look into it ya, I'm usually too lazy to try to read Japanese.

But yeah, those screens are nice. Can't bring myself to buy a 360 for the limited number of RPG titles they'll have, though. D: And who knows? Maybe the PS3'll have some nice stuff, too. There's been some speculation that Trusty Bell might get ported to the PS3 one day on the grounds that most of the people in Japan dislike the 360, so if Trusty Bell doesn't sell well for the 360 in Japan, it's gonna head over to the PS3 where every other RPG is gonna be. 8O

But yeah. Pretty. ;A;

But mostly: OH YEAH SAKURABA <3333

Yeah, hopefully they'll bring it to PS2 (not PS3, because I don't wanna pay $600!!!). XBox 360 is nice...but, maybe later.

"SAKURABA!!"????

.:Edit:. Oh, I looked him up. Rock music guy. I guess you really like his music.

Hmm. I thought he had some really nice classical pieces under his belt, too. I just remember that the piano is his instrument of choice.

...And Tales of Phantasia had a nice soundtrack. <3 8D

Oh, I just quickly looked at two words next to his name and came back. I didn't care about paying attention very much. *shrug* Do you have any mpg3's or something of his music I could listen to? I'm curious now.

Hmm. Sure, though I'm pretty sure you've heard his stuff before. He's had a hand in the ost for... all the Tales games, I'm pretty sure, as well as the Star Ocean series.

Unfortunately, the only mp3 I have by him on my laptop right now is Fighting of the Spirit (Arrange Version), which is one of my absolute most favourite pieces by him. Seeing as you've played Symphonia, I'm sure you'll recognize it. Razz
