I just started this manga (now anime *squeal*) and I love it. The art is awesome, I really, really love the art ^_^ Also, the characters are adorable, lovable, and develop along with the storyline. I can't wait to see the anime. Anyone else? |

I'm about halfway into the DGM manga now, it's pretty good, with some good characters. And the art is nice. Though, I hate Kanda with a passion. x:
As I stated in the Death Note thread, the anime was "eh". It wasn't as high-quality as I'd hoped it would be, and the art style got mucked with a bit. :/ _________________ FAC |

I finally find someone who agrees with me. ^_^ Even since I met him I've loathed that stupid idiot. _ Though I do have to admit he is better after his reappearance around 83 (or was it 89?)...
Anywho, I'm on chapter 91, but I haven't checked for any updates for about a month, so I'm fairly behind in it. Awesome stuff happening right now. =D
My favorite characters are probably Baku, Rabi/Ravi/Lavi, and Tikki Mik.
The art work in D.Gray-Man is really nice, but it changes a lot. I swear, Allen looks different in every volume he's in. Not that that's a bad thing, just noticeable.

I'll agree with that. x_x I don't get Rabi's design at all anymore...but the anime is fairly reminiscent of the newer chapters (at least in Kanda's case) so...eh. _________________ 'Cause this would just be anticlimactic, wouldn't it?

Rabi looks waaaay older than he should, if the op. is anything to go by. x: He looks like he's in his 20s or something.
I'm glad Miranda got to be in the Op. She was one of my favorites. :B _________________ FAC |

Exactly. I mean, technically he is 18, but he just never looks that old in the manga... >_<
Saw a bit of the RAW for the second episode just now. Gotta' say...Takahiro Sakurai as Kanda ain't bad. Pretty awesome, actually. ^_^
Komui's voice irks me, but I'll get used to it. _________________ 'Cause this would just be anticlimactic, wouldn't it?

Really? I think Komui's one of my favorites in the anime. He's awesome.
And yeah, Kanda's freaking annoying >_< But I like him. only because he and Allen together are a source of comical relief XD My favorite character's probably Rabi (however you want to spell it) or Linali (however you want to spell that)
Probably what irks me the most is the translation between japanes and english for the names. You can spell them so many different ways @_@
I like the manga better, and I don't mind the changing art style. |

I've only read the first two books so far, but it's pretty good.
Kanda is one helluva annoying bastard, but Allen's cute. A bit generic, but still good.
That's my main drawback; so far from the 2 volumes I've read, the style's pretty generic. Not much unique about it.
EXCEPT for the designs for the Akuma and the Millenium Earl and all. I find that to be quite interesting, and that's why this manga is going on my bookshelf.
I'm really expecting some nice original designs to come from this, as it interests me a lot.
Haven't seen the anime though. For decent manga, I tend to avoid the ripped-up and mutilated Anime versions. D: (Speaking generally, really) _________________ |

Wow...generic...D. Gray-man? Man, you should see the recent chapters. The art style changes so much it's scary XD Allen, Linali, and Miranda come to mind. Allen's current outfit/weapon really stands out for me. It's awesome. >0<
I think the anime's style is a bit more generic in the sense that it doesn't seem to be going through any dramatic changes. Although I have to say the animation is a bit off at times. |

Well, like I said, I've only read the first two books.
If there's art change, I'll welcome it~ Should be quite interesting. :)
Don't get me wrong; it's still a really nice manga and different from plenty of others. I look forward to it~ _________________ |

I'll admit it forthright: I've never read the manga. I've never even seen it before.
But I'm watching the anime and I think it's pretty good. The animation is average, but judging from the shounen-esque artstyle, it's not as if I was expecting something of extreme quality like Le Chevalier d'Eon or something. :0 So I think it's pretty good for what it is.
...I think the storyline's prgressing a bit fast in the anime (and by this, I mean I'm surprised that they revealed a big chunk of Allen's background fairly quickly), but it's not bad.
...etc. Pretty decent overall, but I prefer B3 when it comes to this season's shounen anime. :X |

Ah well, the manga is much better in my opinion, some things got changed in the anime, rather big things. It's probably just my personal opinion but this manga is on my top three list.
Just an interesting side note, in my DA account, out of 32 deviations, 19 were D. Gray-man related and 10 were fanarts of the AllenxKanda pairing. I started laughing at this cause I can't see how these people come up with this pairing, considering the two practically try to kill each other as soon as they meet, and as soon as they re-meet. XD I feel so sorry for Rabi, trying to play peacekeeper. ROFL |
