A change in the ordering on profiles...

I just noticed today that the ordering for the fav artists and fans has changed. The favs has been changed into alphabetical order, and the fans based on time, with the oldest first...

To be honest, I rather liked the old system better, whether that was by mere chance or actually set up. With things working by the most recent, you could see who I'd faved recently, and since notifications don't work for favs (I think I've brought that up before) I only learned of a new person adding me to their favs from occasional glances at my profile, which was fine rather than email, kind of.

Could things possibly go back to the way they were?
Or will they stay?

It's no biggie; if this isn't changed, I'm not going to complain a lot; but it really just did seem kinda better the old way. :/

Ha! Lol, I just came here to post the exact same thing you did.
I completely agree. There really is no point in seeing the first 10 or whatever people who have faved me. It is much more useful to see the most recent people, espically since the names are in alphabetical order if you click "view all favs"
Please change it back!

On a similar note, can we expect to see numbering for our "fans" any time soon?

I've been suggesting for awhile that we should have the number of Faves/fans and faved pics in brackets like this:

I think this way would work. We could also have it like this on the faves page.

Seems like a fairly well baised idea. i'd say it would work fine but is it wha t every one really wants is the question at hand now. Apoll would be in order for thing kind of thing, not like a lot of people would really pay any attention any how, though.

They are not ordered at all. Any apparent ordering is just coincidence.

The order changed because while the mail web server was down for hardware changes I ran a major database optimization process (which can only be done when the database is not in use and takes quite some time to run) which physically changes the order of data being stored and therefore can change the apparent order of unsorted data being displayed.

Only if the database also records [i]when[/i] they faved you (and, frankly, it should). If that information wasn't stored to begin with, the answer's no.

Then do you think we could get e-mails when someone favs us? I know there's a box to check that says that, but I've never gotten any mail from it.

That happened to me too! Shocked

I never got ANY emails saying I got faved as an artist! I've been wondering about that for months. WTF?

I don't store fave dates, but I do store sequential IDs of faves. They are now ordered by id descending which should produce newest first.

Yay! Thanks for fixing it, Denis. To be honest, if you have this, there's really no point to email alerts to your being faved and all. :)
