A new homepage section suggestion

Well after surfing through the forums for the first time since I've joined FAC a year ago, I've come up with an idea that would be cool, although I don't how possible it would be...

Well, you see, we always see alot of the very popular artists being featured, and that's not bad in the slightest, but it does keep attention away from the equally great artists that are just starting out here on FAC, so what I'm suggesting is an up and commers section.

The way I see it, it would be in a block right below the featured artist block on the homepage or something like that, and it would feature an up and coming artist that just started on FAC but has great promiss to be great =D

The way I see it, it would be great for a new artists confidence, or even if it was an artist that's been around for a while but has only been showing potential for a while recently now =)

I don't know how possible this would be for FAC, but I just thought it would be a great way for artists who don't get that much attention to boost their confidence a bit... there could be like a few up and commers featured at a time =) I don't know, I figured it would be a nice idea...

Thoughts?

The reason a lot of newer artists' stuff doesn't get featured is because some people like to join sites like this and automatically post stolen art. So, without any other works to compare to, we can't feature new artists so suddenly.

That's a good point... hmm, if that's the case (I know what you mean) maybe instead of up and commers there should be something else, because I know how alot of the people who fall back in the crowd feel, and it puts a great blow in their ego and confidence as an artist... I dunno, it's just my other side that loves to cheer for the underdog ya know?

I'm one of the people who doesn't have their art recognized, but it gives me more reason to try harder

'Cause you can't give everyone recognition just for trying hard or you'll have a lot of people needing to be featured somewhere. If you find a person whose art you think deserves to be featured, post it in the featured art thread. Even if it's not quite good enough, at least they'll have that little bit of fame

Here here!! ^.^ The only bit of fame I ever got was a pic of the hour sometime before they changed the layout =P

But hey, that's cool too ^.^ I'll do that for now =D *flys off to find the underdogs*
