But it does work for some sites.
It works for http://pixeljoint.com

Yes, however, looking through the galleries there, I see not only a lot more overall talent, but also a lot more, er... maturity. High ratings here on FAC won't necessarily be based on skill so much as they'll be based on "homg hawt axel x roxas yoai!!!" _________________ FAC |

That's why I went there after I quit drawing fanart and started up pixeling. I still get "omg I love Gir he is so cute!!!!!!!1" comments on my old fan art, but my most popular pixel art on PJ and dA have like 3 comments and 1 fav here. But it is a fanart community, so I have to expect it if I'm going to post. _________________ |

I get the exact same thing. And then I have the problem that my old stupid fanart gets all the attention and favs, while my newer, not so fanart, dosen't.
Yeah, you'll have to be careful with that.
Also, as was mentioned earler, the other site had a larger scale to rate on. It might be good for us to do the same. I can't see why not.
But at the same time, I really do not want this to turn into Gaia. I hate the way they do things there. I supose it won't be so bad because people won't be rating just to get gold here (I really hope you don't offer prizes for rating, or people are sure to spam it) But geez, the system there is rather unbalanced. |
Maybe add a neutral smiley to provide a middle ground between good/bad.
That's just what I would suggest. |

Joou has a very good point. And the neutral smiley would seem to even out the system a bit. |

I agree with having a neutral smiley between "good" and "bad". While the only effect in the calculations is logging a vote without affecting the total score, in practice those who would vote "neutral" otherwise would have been voting "good" or "bad", resulting in slightly higher (or lower) rankings for middling pics.
Add a neutral smiley -- that's my suggestion. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

But why use the neutral smiley as a good or bad equalizer? why not just make another category for the neutrally voted art work? |

Nah, that's not nessary. It makes sense to have a neutral smiley. |

Lol, stratadrake, it was your suggestion in the first place on the first page of this thread.
But whatever. I didn't know there were sections for rated pics. Or are there? Like what Sora121 just said. |

When viewing a gallery, you can sort the view by highest rating first. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA
