I've only been fellating over this anime for the past month. Really. Posted mention of it a couple times in Random, too. OTL.
Anyway, I think it's a really good one. It doesn't have an epic plot like Xenosaga, nor does it have any hot men past Benawi and What's-his-face and Kurou but!! It still has an excellent storyline in itself. I didn't find any of the female characters overly annoying, and music fit the situations really well.
I'll probably buy the DVDs once they come out with a boxed set because I'm too cheap to buy the DVDs individually. 8D;
Anyway, the storyline is as thus: the main character is found seriously wounded in a forest by a girl from a village and she brings him home to her grandmother, who is the village's medicine woman, to treat him. He wakes up after some treatment with no recollection of what happened to him - in fact, he doesn't remember anything about his past at all. He's wearing a mask that covers half his face and finds that he can't get it off. He is also plagued by visions - and occassionally nightmares - of some demonic creature surrounded by an enormous blaze.
The medicine woman names him after her deceased son, Hakuoro, and gives him some her son's clothing. To repay her, he decides to help out around the village a little, and he finds out that the lord of that part of the country has been terrorizing the village as of late, and he snubs one of the lord's henchmen in true heroic fashion. Getting pissed off, that particular henchman destroys a shrine near the village to the forest's Guardian, and it (in the form of a giant white tiger) attacks the village and kills a few people. Hakuoro defends the village and kills the guardian and decides, for the betterment of the people, to lead a rebellion and oust the lord of that county.
That's the basic beginning of the show/game, and it gets really involved along the way with a couple twists.
Also, the opening and ending themes are love. I prefer the ending theme, but they're both pretty good. I'll upload them later for you when I get home (I'm at school right now, lol).

I've heard of this anime, I've only seen up to episode four though...The people I know have seen up to episode eleven or something. I wonder how they find time, anyway, I think it's a rather nice series. I personally like the whole "rebellion against corrupt forces" theme, because well, it's something I'm actually interested in. One thing to note most definitely though, is that I really like the theme song and the ending song. They're both very nice to listen to. Sure, it seems a bit...boring I guess to some in the beginning, but from what I've heard, it picks up the deeper one gets into the series.
I don't know though, I gotta visit YouTube to watch more episodes. Ha ha. |

i really love Oboro...he's funny...And the bodyguard lady has cool ears...i cant remember her name
I found it really good, some parts are hilarious, i would recommend it
the animation type stuff is really good, but they do re-use fight scenes once or twice which is rather annoying. _________________ This is Mr Signature... |
