can't submit pictures

I have submited 6 pictures this week, but I didn't received the mail notification, and the pictures don't appear in the gallery neither Sad

can you tell me what to do please? Smile

At this time, all your submissions have been processed, so if they do not appear in your gallery, and you never received a rejection notice, it means that the notices were lost in the mail (unfortunate as that would be).

I keep trying to submit one of my pictures, but each time I do it, it reads 'No Image Uploaded' It won't let me submit ANYTHING! Crying or Very sad

I don't know what to do!

Okay, [b]that[/b] is different. How large are the images you're trying to upload? What format are they saved as?

For example, please do [i]not[/i] attempt to upload files in BMP format, always convert them to JPG, GIF, or PNG first.

Well, the pictures I've been submiting have been about 1000 x 1600 pixels or so- if that's what you were asking by what size...All the other pictures that I was able to submit were the same size- or about that. Format? How can you tell which format your using?

They are too large. Make them smaller and make sure they are JPG files cuz BMP files arent that uploadable.

Make them maximum 1024x768. And they will be uploaded sucsessfully.

The last three letters of the file name are usually enough to indicate its format.

JPG = Best for photography or scanned drawings/paintings, but don't use it for pixel art or stuff you are actively working on. Awesome compression ratio for most purposes, but don't set the quality ratio any higher than 90-95.

GIF = Good for pixel art, icons, supports transparency and animation. But don't use it for photos or scanned art as it has a limited color palette.

PNG = Similar to the GIF, also good for pixel art or icons. Supports transparency but not animation.

As for the file size, if you right-click on the file and select "Properties", Windows will tell you the size of the file (measured in data). An 800x600 JPG (which, for a full sheet of paper, comes out at about 72dpi) with a quality ratio of about 80-90 should weigh in at about 100~200kb.

Yes, well, what I really don't understand (replying to Throttle) is that It the same size as other pics I've submited.

(to StrataDrake) So that's how you change the format... I thought you only chose formats for submitting stories sometimes, but I guess not- okay I'll try JPG, because it's a scanned picture.....as for the size, I don't know what your talking about- confusing- I don't see how that can effect the fact that I can submit pics, I've submitted bigger.... I dunno, lemme try it and I'll tell you if it works or not...

Actually no, that's [b]not[/b] how you change formats. If you rename the last three letters in a file's name, then you are only changing the [i]name[/i], the file's actual data (and hence its format) remain untouched.

The last 3-4 letters in the filename do not [i]control[/i] the file's format, they are merely used to [b]identify[/b] it at a glance.

In other words, it's a naming convention and nothing more.

Yeah- I just tried it..didn't work..Btw, if this will explain anything, I submitted an older picture that I scanned a while before the ones I've been trying to submit, and it worked- but I can't submit any recent pictures that I've scanned- just old ones...

To change a file's format, you have to open up the file, and re-save it using a different file type. A typical Save dialog box includes a dropdown menu which allows you to select the format used to save it in.

help. i tried to submit a picture and i have done everything that i have to. when i press submit, the submit page repeated and i've tried for several times but nothing happened. but when i tried to submit my story, yes, they're submitted but with 0 word.and i cant delete it. why? what happened? i have already make sure that my picture is not in pending situation, no more than 800 kb and in JPEG format and yes, i had registered (hehe Wink

). and oh, one more. why i cant create my new topic in forum?
