Picture of the Day, perhaps?

Ok, heres an idea I got.
Well, to get more good artists recognized, what about having a Picture of the day kinda thing?

Like....the best picture from the day before would become teh Picture of the Day, on the following day...
ok....saaaaaaaay.....

'Random_User123789' submitted a picture on February 21st
Their picture was the best of all that was submitted that day
On February 22nd, thier picture would show up as "Picture of the Day"

I know its a random idea, but hows about putting some thought into it?

(sorry if 'Random_User123789' is ur username,I didn't know. And sorry if this is already posted somewhere else)

Interesting, but it probably won't have much effect. On the one hand, if it simply selects the most faved/commented/viewed/rated piece from the previous day, then it's no better than a popularity contest (artists such as Seifer-sama and Lizkay are quite beloved on FAC and would easily top the list whenever they submit something).

On the other hand, site staff decision is what the Featured Art panel is for, and that's not perfect either.

I think it is a really good idea.
The staff should decide it.
And it should be more like the picture of yesterday, as in they look at everything submitted yesterday and choose the best one.
I supose that could be decided by which one has elements close enough to the featured pictures.

Yes it does sound nice [i]in theory[/i]. But trying to accomplish it in practice is a completely different matter.
