Why cant people delete theirown posts? It would certainly lower the count of accidental double-posts.

there are manny ways to abuse such privledges, one of the ways I personally have been known to do it is what I call a non post bump. when a post of mine is the last post of a thread that i want to bump, I go into edit my post, copy it, delete it, open a new post and paste it and submit it. the only thing that changes on the post it self is the date wile the thread believes it has a new post. To any one who read the post before it would appear that no new posts are there. I have done this on countless forums so as to not double post to bump a thread. I would imagine it is somewhat annoying to reread a post, but I feel it looks better than a DP. There are other ways but that is one I use.
