While looking at the works of other user's I stumled upon 2 work which seems like traced. And I found the originals. I need to know if they really are traced.

Hey, Rain! Nice to see you on the forums!
Anyway, regarding the pics, I know who made them. He's my friend. But I'm not supposed to tell. I dunno if he traced it or not. I see some of his doodles at school and he looks like he's great at drawing. So you may be wrong. It's 85% identical from the originals. But he may just used it as a reference and never traced. I may be wrong, whatever. But I'm saying that he possibly didn't. I mean, look at the Sasuke one, the original has a sharp and long chin, while in the art, the chin is shorter. So, who knows? |

One more possible reason:
Maybe it is "easy" for him to draw it. I, myself, "redid" his work AND I myself found it easy.
Here's the line art (please don't laugh, I only did this in 5 minutes )

The submissions in question have an even closer resemblance to official art than that. This is a borderline case of tracing, and that is not allowed.
General rule of thumb, layer both pieces together in Photoshop with partial opacity, scale them to the same size and if you can't see any clear differences between them, it's a possible trace. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I did what you said, Strata.

I put the submission on opacity of 50%. It looks the same.
Uh-oh! |
