Well, for me, um, probably these reasons:

1. Things I watched on TV or movie I saw.
2. Places I went to (i.e.: The Colin & Brad Show; you can't take pictures, so I put it on paper!).
3. Music.
4. Things that happened to me.

I guess I really don't know.

I love to draw because.... I don't know, really.. I've alway loved to do it, I guess I love doing it because I can express myself on a simple peice of paper, but when I start drawing, that simple peice of paper comes to life. Cool

its my skill...my only skill...
my daydreams are like a cinematic adventure...
i have story in my head that i want to see come to life.
i perpetually LIVE in my own imagination, so its good to see it on paper

I LOVE to live in my imaginary world... I acll it the 'Shadow World' .... Cuz I like dark things. =) As I sleep, I live in my world. When I am awake... Well, I draw it on paper, or think of it. Im good at the whole 'thinking' thing.

Art is enjoyable to some degree, and if I didn't, I wouldn't have stopped doing it since I was a kid.

I am motivated to draw art when I have ideas in my head that I want to express, because I express poorly with words than with pictures. I relate to it better. I also draw to improve. As you may have noticed, I draw some fanart because I get ideas of how I want to draw them, or sometimes, I draw them because I'm curious to see how I would render a fanart piece. Other times, I am motivated to draw because I want to experiment with something, like lighting or color, which is all part of helping me improve.

Well, to train myself I draw portraits of people I see anywhere-- an ad in a magazine for instance. (I only draw people.)
I get inspired to draw character I'm a fan of, for example from Rent, Wicked etc.

Well, I draw because I have always liked to draw, and it´s also a nice way to kill some time... I´m also interested in what people think of my pics, and well, if I weren´t, then I wouldn´t submit anything here... Wink

When I get inspired or feel like drawing I will draw, sometimes it is because of commissions (I usually get there in the end). At the moment I'm just having an art block, I can't draw grr.

1: Requests or prizes
2: Inspiration of my surroundings
3: The idea of advancing my art skills

I wish it was mostly 2 & 3, but when I make promises(ex. #1), I don't break them. =)

I wasn't always into it but I enjoyed the attention I got from people around me saying i was good at art. Now i really like it, it's a good way to relax ..

If i see a 'celebrity' with a pretty face I get the urge the sketch it in a coloured portrait style.
Or if i hear a really cute or funny song lyric i draw some anime style thing relating to it.
For the other art i do is simply because i feel like doing it.

The way I get so calm when I draw. It makes me relax a little...*sigh*...So relaxed...
Anyway, I also like others seeing what I can do. And it's fun! Very Happy

I really got into drawing when I took art in grade 9 (I'll be going into grade 12 now). One of the things I learned in that class was how to do really good sketches.

I used the techniques I learned and decided to try and draw Brian from Family Guy since he is my favourite cartoon character. The first couple of sketches I did weren't really good, but I got better as I sketched more.

Now, I can even do a really good drawing of Brian off the top of my head (nothing too complex though like fancy apparel).

Suprisingly, I only took that art class because I dropped a course and needed to find something else to take. So I chose art. If I had stuck with the course I had dropped, I would probably have never learned the techniques for sketching and therefore, I wouldn't be a member of this site.

I like drawing that's why I do it. I like drawing family guy characters too. Brian & Stewie are my favorites. I also draw when I'm bored.

I draw because I'm driven to work with my hands, whether it be drawing or my other hobbies, knitting and crocheting. I *have* to be doing one of those things in my free time or else I'll go insane.

I like seeing a few pencil lines and shading turn into a recognizable face or animal.

And I'm an attention whore. People "oooh" and "aaah" at my art work and I love it. Razz

What makes me make art? Simple. Because I want to. I want to draw. Either that, or when I'm in the mood or something.

I draw and create art because its something that I really love to do, and people appreciate it. I'm talented (I don't mean to sound narcissistic) and art is a way that I express myself and sometimes get away from some of the junk that goes on around me, its how I deal with certain things, too.

In terms of technique, I mostly taught myself, I had some middleschool/ junior high art classes where I learned to blend colours and all that jazz, and I just took it from there. My techniques in terms of lines and colours and themes actually varies with what I'm doing and how I'm feeling when I'm doing.

:]
