|
|
I have 13 pictures. I just posted 2 pictures about 20 minutes ago.
But they didn't show up.
And since the message after I submitted them was different than usual, I realized that I must now have the advantage of auto-submitting pictures. Or not.
They haven't shown up yet. They are not under pending and it still says I have submitted 2 pictures today and they have been added to my total picture count.
Is there any experienced user out there who can tell me if this is normal?
EDIT:
I need help again.
Why is it when I do intricate shading on a picture, it looks horrible when I upload it?
For example:

- Some submission categories ignore auto-approval, but you don't appear to have submitted artwork to any of them.
- Your picture #573306 appears in GIF format -- what file format did you upload it in? When you make digital art in Photoshop or the like, always save/export it in a true-color image format (PNG or JPG). GIF files are inherently limited to a 256-color palette and are not appropriate for most digital art. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Umm.
How ironic, I changed it to PNG, then JPG before I read this.
It looks fine when I open it up in Adobe Photoshop.
But when I change the file after I click 'edit' in the picture, it's still really bad. |

If you've already uploaded a new file, then that's probably a caching issue. Caching issues mean one thing, check back later and see if it changes. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

I have found that when I edit a new image into a slot I need to refresh it once or twice to get it to show properly. the thumbnail however will take a little longer to update, but they will chance to the proper images in time. _________________ RPG-n. Chaching issue? Ohwow. Unidentified word to me.
Ok. If I have to wait. I can tell you it has been and hour. And it is the same. So I don't know how long it is supposed to take. |

Caching errors occur when the computer stores a copy of the data for quick reference, but hasn't acknowledged the data being changed/updated afterwards. The FAC server caches various aspects of a page for easy retrieval, and your average Internet browser caches webpages for the same reason. _________________ Strata here: Nanowrimo - FAC - dA - FA

Thanks for the definition, it makes a lot more sense now.
So I am guessing if someone who never went to that page before looked at the picture now, they would be able to see if it was bad or not.
Would someone do me the honors? |
