What is your favorite art software, and why?

I love Photoshop because it has nearly an endless set of brushes to use. And, the filters are so cool. All of the features in Photoshop make my artwork look so awesome.

Discuss your favorite software here. Wink

Thanks! Very Happy

@ Benk: It does take forever, doesn't it? But still, I like the simplicity of the program. Sometimes it's nice when layers and navigation windows aren't all in the way.

I agree that it does take forever. I tried to do some pixel art once and I got so frustrated at how long it took and I gave up. But your art is nice, though. Oh, and you're welcome.

I personally like using Photoshop Elements but can be more difficult with layering Sad What I especially like about the Photoshop Elements is it can alter thickness of line, tone, clean up and makes things like the background pure white with ease.
Another program I want to try is Painter though at some point.

I can't choose. But I do notice a lack of vector-based editors (Illustrator, Inkscape) in the poll choices.

But I agree with jhonenfreak. Never underestimate the power and fun of MS Paint for pixel art.

I don't use an art programme. Well, say don't use, except to scan stuff in and save it on that programme. The one I use is Photoshop 5 Limited Edition- just a basic copy that I got cheap somewhere at the time. I prefer to use pencils and marker pens most times.

Oekaki. D;
It's the only one simple enough for me (besides MS Paint) plus it has two layers. Two glorious layers and masking.

I'm okay with that. Plus, it's a nice community. :>

I used to use MS Paint and openCanvas before I got Photoshop this year for Christmas, and they did the job.

I agree, there is nothing better than going x8 and being able to add or take away any detail

....URL for Photoshop? I would recommend buying it because downloaded versions are either of the two things: have viruses, or has a 30-day limited trial.

You could try to download it off of LimeWire (I highly don't recommend it, though), or just Googling it.

You forgot option #3: it could be a pirated (*ahem* ILLEGAL) version.

If cost is an issue, you're better off downloading GIMP and learning how to use it instead.
