Weeellll, I play nothing as extravagent as an Ocarina, but I play the French Horn. I just got this real nice silver-colored double horn (might be chrome plating, even!).
I'm a band geek to last.

I know what a trumpet is but what in blue blazes in a mellophone?

A mellophone is a marching french horn. Slightly higher range, same key, fingerings (unless you're under the staff), etc. Wieghs about 12 pounds. Key of F.

Looks like what would happen if someone threw a firecracker in a trumpet a little.

I play bass guitar & also electric-at first it sounds weird and your fingers might go numb but youll get used to it Smile

yeh..the only piano/keyboard i tried was doing the beginnging of w.t theblackparade-My chemical Romance,In the End-linkin park ect. Very Happy
