What's the worst comment you've heard about your artwork?

Ouch! My mother caught a really morbid pic of mine.... Shocked

omg i was too shocked to cry. I was like what nine? She was all like, "I found this very disturbing. Why did you draw this?" I was too shocked to say anything but "Ummm....um....um..."
And I felt like, (i've been suicidal since the time I was nine bear with me Sad

) "Because I AM f**king suicidal, you moron!" But If I said that I'd get help from a counsellor....hmmm....I don't like to think about it because it really makes me get creeped..... Confused

You probably recognize a pattern beginning to take shape. Not of the Fibonacci variety either, where said repetitions are woven into the very fabric of nature in some kind of cosmic mathematical coincidence that makes you wonder if there really is a design to everything after all, but more of Grandmother's quilt variety, where said repetition makes you wonder where in the world people can purchase such hideous floral pastel patterns and why they think you'll want to display them in your living room.

A. Critique
B. Groveling

I'd have to say that the off-topic comments are the worst because the people completely ignore the art and use the text space to be annoying. That's disrespectful imo. I prefer the constructive crits that politely point out errors rather than the off topic comments.

There are tons of reasons people post on the internet, though you have covered the two basics...
-critique
-pride
-to make a statement (political, moral, etc)
-shock value
-advertisement
-because it would only sit in a computer file otherwise
-others, I'm sure

They basically all ask for a reaction from and audience or to influence the audience somehow.

I have to admit that "You make 5 people go straight every hour with this pic" was pretty damn funny.

Something new, I suppose. Half a year ago I drew a picture of then nameless manga character. Since her name was released a few weeks ago, I keep getting pointless comments on the picture that say simply, "Her name is _____."

Like, what? Great? That, like jhonenfreak said earlier, totally disregards the art. (And is also quite spoiler-y. I knew about her name before I saw the comments, but it could potentially spoil it for other people who aren't quite up to date on their manga.)

Ok i get it, i was like 10 and i wasn't good with words...
but...what did that have to do with the plot of the story?? Honestly...I like comments that tell me what they liked about it and what i can work on ^_^
