First off: I'm not a hardcore fan of anything. If it's good music, I'll listen to it.

If it's bad, I won't.

But I can't help but think that over the past two years (and deal with me, here, I don't listen to the radio often) music has really gone to the dumps. When I was in 8th grade, sure, it wasn't fantastico, but there was certainly more creativity out there and you could find cool artists on most popular radio channels.

Now? All I hear is shitty pop and lame rap.

So? Am I right, wrong, confused?

I keep wondering where all the good artists have gone. It's only been two years since I actually listened to the radio but it seems like since then everything's just gone splat.

What, were they all one-hit wonders?

I mean, a lot of the good artists are still popular. They just aren't played on the radio that often. So, you have to just buy the cds instead. But, I've been told that college radios play good music.

Yeah, I can believe that. I mean, I know the artists that are good then still exist now, but I don't understand why we're getting crap shoved down our throats and are expected to like it. It's so...violating.

And there's good stuff out there. That should be played on the radio.

What genre of music do you typically enjoy the most? I don't have a problem finding music I like. Although I do hate most of whats popular. I guess I just look extra hard for the stuff I like and find it. There is good stuff in every genre, you just probably need to pirate or find a streaming station that plays it.

I've recently gotten Google Desktop so I have a radio player, I already found two good stations to play when I get tired of my media player music. It's not hard to find the music you love if you look in places they don't play whats popular all the damn time.

You're absolutely right! Dumb pop and rap are all over the radios.

That s**tty so called "Music" is popular, cause they make it popular with money.

Thats cause the music is now a product and not art. Its all commercial.

You have to really look for something thats good and you'll never find it on the radio station, try downloads or buying cds.

shit I hate the most is pop... I think almost everyone here thinks it's crap. I don't have a specific genre that I like.

There are still some bands who are popular and realy good... Like the The artic monkeys. But I can't see why bands like 30 seconds to mars or fallout boy keep on getting in the hitlists. They suck.
