As we know already, FPS this year will be bigger, better, badder and sexier than ever before. With the introduction of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay this year and later this year Halo 2 and Doom 3. Not only that, there will be F.E.A.R., Half-Life 2, Far Cry Instincts, Area 51, Star Wars Republic Commando, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, and Killer 7. These are just some that I can name off the top of my head. But the games everyone are looking forward to are: Halo 2, Doom 3 and Half-Life 2. All of these have excellent reputations and have no where to go but up (if they can surpass their own sucess of course.)
But one game is on my list for a must-have along with Halo 2 and the others: GoldenEye: Rogue Agent. GoldenEye redefined FPS games on the N64 with it's 4-player multiplayer that was perfect fun for any party, the depth of the game was supurb including quality in graphics (at the time), music and gameplay. Now, with GoldenEye: Rogue Agent, EA Games hopes to improve on the series with it's latest game. From the trailers, the level design is great, the grapics are great (not the best, but certainly up to par with todays standards) and the ragdoll effects are simply awesome. You must check this game out, it will continue the legacy of the original GoldenEye.
GoldenEye: Rogue Agent

Is anyone else looking forward to these FPS games?

EA is making it?? Bwahahaha it's going to suck! No way is it ever going to be as legendary as the original goldeneye if a mass production firm is going to make it.

Yeah I'm into fps, I just got painkiller, awesome game, reminds me of Blood. My favorite right now is the ut2004 conversion red orchestra. I'm most looking forward to doom 3 but I'll need a new graphics card if I'd want to play it really high res and smooth.

Dude... I need a whole lot better f**king everything if I wish to play Halo 2 on the PC with any good quality... I have Halo for PC and everything sucks about it <_< Well, you know, good game but the X-Box version flows better.
Anyway, not all games by EA suck, just look at it's games fot the X-Box man! Madden, Medal of Honor, FIFA Football, Battlefield, NCAA Football, NBA Street and the f**king Sims! Also, with the rehashing of Burnout 3 and Timesplitters 3, how the hell can you f**k up that? EA games is one of the best publishers/developers out there, and no their games don't suck. Dude... the SIMS. Oh, and don't forget Need For Speed: Underground.
But on a more positive note, I do agree that it will most likely come no where near close to being as close to the legendary as the original GoldenEye 007. But it sure does look pretty damn fun.

I'm confused...

Ok, GoldenEye 007 for the N64 was like, one of the legendary FPS games of all time. It and Perfect Dark (also released on the N64) are both awesome, legendary games that achieves both technical brilliance and the maximum ammount of fun. It's believeable since both were made by Rare.
So now they're creating a new FPS (first person shooter) game based on pretty much all of the Bond movies created from like, the 70s to present time. Since there are no movies that are sequals of eachother, all of the bond movies happen all around the same timeline, there's no set date for any of them. This comes great for the developers of Rogue Agent because they plan to use a lot of the enemies found in these films for the "underground gang war" between Goldfinger and Dr. No., two of the most devious bond protagonists ever. Anyway, you play this agent gone bad character who's had enough of MI-6 so he leaves to work for one of the underground crime rings. Here he moves his way to the top ranks as he aids his crime ring by killing other evildoers.
After that, there's not much other to this game. You get it, load it, play it and shoot the hell out of people. I'm anticipating this game very much, but it doesn't look too me like it will hold up to the brilliance of the original GoldenEye 007. All of the FPS in the past have offered something "cool" or "innovative" to the genre. But from the looks of it all Rogue Agent seems to offer is a new melee system, new gadgets and the chance to play along side your favorite super-villian. But hell, the game sure looks like fun.
If you're confused about FPS it means "first person shooter" which right away tells you about what it is. A FPS game is any game that puts you into the 1st person perspective. This usually is only usefull with shooters though, so since 99% of all FP games are shooters, they just add shooter in there. FPS games are fun and they have no where to go but up, that's assuming the developers don't run out of ideas which I'm sure they will soon.
