Offline or Online

I been having problems and so have other people because when I am on line it says I am offline and if I comment one of my friends it says there offline but they are really online.

Its a well known bug.
And its not really a problem.

Given the nature of Internet surfing (specifically, HTTP protocol), there is no reliable way of determining who is online or offline at a given time.

Online/offline on the main site is determined by a 3 min timeout.
