I like Photoshop out of those, though it annoys the hell out of me when using it. I would like to try others as well ^__^

You could try either GIMP (I've never tried it, though), or openCanvas. openCanvas can make any of your art look as good as Photoshop. I've used it before, and it's a pretty cool program. It's way smaller than Photoshop, so that's an advantage.

MS paint! It has just everything you need. It's easy and simple to use.

I have Photoshop for the illustrative work, and Flash for the more cartoony work. But I start everything at the animation table w/paper & pencil.

I didn't realize so many people liked pixel art. I always figured soft-shaded Photoshop-type pictures were the most popular.
