When it came out it sucked, but it's doing better. I think the controlling is the worst part cuz it doesn't feel even close to the realism of the Wiimotes motion sensoring. The Wii is deffinitaly going to kick it's butt for a long time. Also the 360 price drops are making it tough compitition for Sony.
Also with the hugely exclusive GTA IV being delayed for next year, that's going to be really bad for PS3 holiday sales!
To explain all of this in one sentence- Not saying it's a disaster, it needs improvement that's all. |

yea and they are aware...different models without the playback feature (able to play older console games) are going to be released at cheaper prices with lesser memory.
its already $100 less.
at this point in time while KHIII and tekken 6 and FFXIII are not out i would rather have a 360 |

WHY DOES THIS THREAD EXIST? o_o
Okay, now with that out of the way, let me comment:
Yes, Sony DID drop the price of the 60GB model by 100$, making it now 499$ USD. Not entirely too expensive if you can manage your money well, but still on the heavy end of things. Considering what you get, though, I think it's an excellent deal. It'd cost far more to purchase an HD-DVD player and a Blu-Ray player on their own.
And no, they will not release cheaper "stripped down" versions of the PS3. At the very least, it's unlikely. Sony is already preparing to release an 80GB model. Not only that, but when the 20GB model and the 60GB model were released, the 60GB model, despite being more expensive, outsold the 20GB model 10:1. Hence why 20GB models are no longer in production.
I already bought a PS3. There's only about two games I'd want to play on the 360 (Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon, and not so much the latter), so no, I'm not getting one of those. The Wii's cute, but the only game I'd play on it is Twilight Princess, and why bother when I could get a GC for cheaper and play it on that? And yes, it's getting the Tales of Symphonia sequel which I wouldn't mind trying, but... I was never really that interested in ToS to begin with. |

Too bad the price cut is only temporary. I wish Sony would keep the 60 GB PS3 @ 500 and the 80GB @ 600. |

I'm gonna wait until they get more games out for it. Right now there's literally one game I would play on the ps3. So unti they come out with more good ones, I'll stick with my PS2 and wii. |
