Line paper disallowed?

Why is it disallowed?! Confused

I don't see a good reason except that it wont be very es.. ete.. err.. good looking.. Razz

Not "good looking" is [i]exactly[/i] the reason. People don't give it any respect, and this being the computer age, blank / non-lined paper is readily available (what else would printers use?) .

And you should be able to find a good sketchbook within $5-10.

I find $1 sketchbooks out there. Go to a dollar store, they always have 'em there Wink

Don't you want to put nice work up on the site? I know I never look at lined paper submissions. If you like the picture, you can transfer it onto other paper or remove the lines in an image-editing program.

It brings down the site's quality when there are pictures improperly scanned, drawn on lined paper, too dark/bright, etc.

Good artists willingly choose sketchbooks, drawing pads, and blank paper.

PS: I finally located the infamous "Lasher's Rant" about linedpaper, circa March 2004 (yes that is how far back this issue goes).

Good points from Lasher. Lines are easy enough to remove from black and white drawings anyway.
