I have PSP7.
Go to FILE > NEW
Adust HEIGTH and WIDTH depending on what size you want
Use pixel increments and 72 dpi for web images
Use inch increments and 300 dpi for print images
Use the Paint Brush tool (10th tool down in TOOL BOX)
View the TOOL OPTIONS window
Play around with the shape, size, opacity, etc options to get used to them
Just experiment and practice! _________________ |

Thanks so much! ^_^ I will try to remember all of that. I am trying to play around with it more. I want to draw with it but I think I am gonna have to get a drawing tablet for that b/c when I draw with a mouse and/or touch pad it always comes out bad. |

Do you have a scanner? If you can scan in the lineart you can do a lot of effective colouring with just the mouse and the freehand select tool.
I did try to write a tutorial to cover the basics, it's here (http://www.fanart-central.net/pic-589199.html) if you're interested but you can get tons of experiance just by pressing the buttons and seeing what they do. |

If you're going to invest in a tablet, I suggest you get Photoshop as well. Paint Shop Pro 7 doesn't respond to pressure sensitivity on a tablet, but Photoshop does. _________________ |

There is some degree of pressure sensitivity in PSP, you can tell it to vary line width/colour/opacity with pressure but it only really works well for coloring.
If you want to draw nice smooth lines (such as lineart) or have a better range of brushes you'll want another program as jhonenfreak says. Saying that though there is still a lot you can do with PSP (esp. if you're like me and can't afford photoshop). |

What version of PSP do you have, chaos? I have PSP7, and there's no pressure sensitivity whatsoever. Maybe later versions accomodate tablets, but I don't even think tablets were available when PSP7 was made. _________________ |

I have PSP7 actually.
The sensitivity is in the second tab of the Tool Options window:

Took me about six months to find the thing though! |

Well what do you know? That thing was there the whole time and I never knew it. _________________ |
