Alright, I know you're not allowed to post edit pictures as 'Art' here. But, putting them on your profile or in a fiction, because you don't want your profile to be huge, souldn't be a reason to get your account/fiction deleted, right? |

What exactly is an "edit picture?" I think anything but porn is fine in profiles. I don't see why you need to include pictures in your fanfiction, though. _________________ [i][size=9]Go Yankees![/size][/i] |

An edit picture is where you take a screen-shot/manip/some other picture and change stuff on it(hair color/clothes/ect). |

Images and written submissions don't mix very well. That is to say, if you write well enough, you don't even need images at all.
And while our policy on written uploads is still a WIP, using the written upload process as an excuse to display pictures (of any type) is not good practice. The written upload process is for [b]creative writing, NOT[/b] as an image dumping ground.
Any such "image dumps" in the Stories area will be subject to immediate removal by site staff.
To which, allow me to once again reiterate my petition for banning the [IMG] tag from written submissions in the first place. _________________ Strata here: [url=http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/242293]Nanowrimo[/url] - [url=www.fanart-central.net/user-Stratadrake.php]FAC[/url] - [url=http://stratadrake.deviantart.com]dA[/url] - [url=www.furaffinity.net/user/Stratadrake/]FA[/url]

There is no rule against image manips and such in profiles, but people really need to keep the number reasonable or I'm going to have to remove img support from profiles. _________________ You will obey or molten silver will be poured into your ears. |

Over the weekend, SilverKitsune reported about four written uploads that were nothing but lists and image dumps (e.g., "shippings I support", "my YGO edits", etc.) Battou also reported one under the context of "using stories to bypass AP". I did several searches for these types of lists that day, and deleted well over 100 so-called "written" uploads. _________________ Strata here: [url=http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/242293]Nanowrimo[/url] - [url=www.fanart-central.net/user-Stratadrake.php]FAC[/url] - [url=http://stratadrake.deviantart.com]dA[/url] - [url=www.furaffinity.net/user/Stratadrake/]FA[/url]

Thankyou for clearing that up. Me and my friend were confused on why one of her friends got banned for edit pictures. |

I don't think that can get you banned unless they were in her submissions (art) area or she traced. _________________ [img]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a131/I_Lov_Asian_Men/phoenixsig.jpg[/img]

It is not possible to screen written submissions. _________________ Strata here: [url=http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/242293]Nanowrimo[/url] - [url=www.fanart-central.net/user-Stratadrake.php]FAC[/url] - [url=http://stratadrake.deviantart.com]dA[/url] - [url=www.furaffinity.net/user/Stratadrake/]FA[/url]

It wouldn't take too long to check whether something was actual writing or just pictures; no reading required. I guess it [i]would[/i] just be easier to remove image embedding entirely.
Edit: And does something like this
http://www.fanart-central.net/chapter-73142.html
even count as written work? If there are any guidelines for what's allowed and what's not, they're.. not exactly easily located. _________________ [i][size=9]Go Yankees![/size][/i] |

IMHO:
Character bios can be considered creative writing [b][url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iff]iff[/url] they are written in plain prose.[/b] Sentences and paragraphs.
If it is merely a "list" or "sheet" of attributes, as if it should accompany a visual reference or picture for full appreciation, then that is not enough.
After all, anyone can madlib a profile sheet together. Heck, even SeventhSanctum's generators put out better sheets than bare lists. _________________ Strata here: [url=http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/user/242293]Nanowrimo[/url] - [url=www.fanart-central.net/user-Stratadrake.php]FAC[/url] - [url=http://stratadrake.deviantart.com]dA[/url] - [url=www.furaffinity.net/user/Stratadrake/]FA[/url]

Negitive, We would need people litterally willing to read lots of crappy writings along with the few good ones, This would be a very time consuming process that would grow boring very quickly even if the prescreener only verifies that the writing is in fact writing and not image dumping. Yes the site would benefit from it but it would be tricky to exicute at current. _________________ [b]RPG[/b]-[i]n[/i]. Just get 5 - 10 people to do just that, Im sure it'll be fine with many people, even if it would become boring after some time, but that's why once that happens, you merely replace. _________________ [img]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a131/I_Lov_Asian_Men/phoenixsig.jpg[/img]

So what's the final word on OC profiles?
And.. are things like hit lists even legal? o_o
ex: http://www.fanart-central.net/chapter-74593.html
I wouldn't be too concerned if it were just like.. famous people, but there's people this person knows irl, too. _________________ [i][size=9]Go Yankees![/size][/i] |
